    Country Music

Aw yes for us Southerners ...we love our country music. We can relate to it, no doubt It goes well with our country spirit and our hearts. There's nothing better than a long cruise in the country watching the mountains pass while playing some kick ass song like ........

Hank Williams Jr. Country state of Mind

If you don't like that...somethings wrong!

There is so much to say about country music, but where do I start...?

    A little history ...

Country music is a blend of popular musical forms originally found in the Southern United States and the Appalachian Mountains. It has roots in traditional folk music, Celtic music, gospel music, and old-time music and evolved rapidly in the 1920s. The term country music began to be used in the 1940s when the earlier term hillbilly music was deemed to be degrading, and the term was widely embraced in the 1970s, while country and western has declined in use since that time, except in the United Kingdom and Ireland, where it is still commonly used.

Country Music's home is Nashville, Tn. Its a great place to visit with the Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame and all the in between.

I like all kinds of music, but there is just something about some good hillbilly music, that makes ya smile and wanna line dance!

Any country music lovers here...? Who is some of your favs?

This is some of the kind of "country" music I crave. It's the old-timey that gets my heart racing so fast I feel my chest will burst. One of these days I'm going to buy me a fiddle and a banjo and teach my kids how to play so that our wonderful music always lives. I wish the Deep Southern were just as common as the Appalachian.
