    Unusual German Weapons of WWII

A must read. I was very happy when i found this site. I have no idea who made it, but it does certainly provide some interesting pictures of prototype handguns of Germany, such as the Knorr-Bremse Assault rifle, the Gerat 06H and even very obscure designs i never heard of before!
It contains even some designs of bullpop submachine guns, anti aircraft launcher, explosive pistols and anti-material rifles!
A must read for persons who want to know a little bit more of german designs of ww2!

    Please read in this context:

    Rudolf Lusar:

Waffen und Geheimwaffen des III. Reiches

    and several other titles.

    Quite competent and interesting reading,

Haha the MG-42 is still impressive. The mauser cartridge was excellent and combined with a huge firepower it sure did tear up complete batallions.

The sturmtiger had also technical issues, such as suspension failure, like all Tiger based chassis armoured vehicles. A sturmpanther, that would be a hell of a thing!

Not to be frivolous, but I can't help wishing the War Wheel had been real.

The German Snipers of WW1. Trained, specialized, equipped with ghillie suits and a extra accurate Gewehr98 with special Sniper cartridges.

Even with complete armored fake Tree!

I also heard they used hard steel plates to cover up and move slowly trough the trenches to shoot enemy MG"s and infantry and they coundn't be hit by normal rifles thanks to the steel plates.

To poor the germans didn't continue this trained and specialized Sniper units to WW2, they had to start all again.
The Snipers of WW1 are forgotten while everybody embraces the 'Soviet' Sniper, who were not so good anyway.

I do believe the upper photography is a WWII photo due to the fact that the shape of the Steel-Helmet is not matching the M1916-Modell at all.
