    The P-Russian Parade in Königsberg

It`s interesting phenomena to my mind. Young people, children of the Soviet settlers , they don't want to be "Russianes" now. They want to be russian-europeans on the Europe territory and to rename the Kaliningrad region into the Baltic republic. They want revival of Prussian-Russian traditions of the pre-Bolshevist revolutionary period.. Is it carnival or a development trend ? I have no answer, opinions are interesting.

Many of the Russians whom live in the occupied northern part of East Prussia actually want the city renamed back to Königsberg officially. This new name given to the centuries old city after a Soviet Prime Minister called Kaliningrad was an act of spite by the invading USSR.

Locals call it 'Kenig' for short as their pet name for Königsberg and so why Moscow hangs on to a name of a former Soviet Prime Minister is strange considering St Petersburg was changed back to its original name.

I had read about many plans made to rebuild the old castle and oldtown but this has probably not yet officially started yet as Moscow probably expects Berlin to part fund it. As it stands various German organisations have been active in the reconstruction of various buildings in the region including Churches.

Once the Castle and Oldtown are rebuilt there is no doubt the city would become a tourist magnet.
