I voted yes, 7 out of 10 cases I'll be flattered by the attention I receive, though I don't explicitly seek it.

Amongst a group I feel comfortable with or am bound to feel comfortable with, I very much enjoy being the entertainer and basically almost at the centre of attention; I can completely go up in that role and can both take a good joke as well as deal out one. I like it when I make people laugh or when they herald their approval of what I said.

When it comes to outside the group, I can sometimes feel less comfortable about drawing all the attention to me. I'll want some attention and recognition, but I'll make a point of not standing right in the centre of the picture with a woman left and right so to speak, I'll be very modest about my importance in the group and will prefer to be viewed as the 'second or third in command' instead of receiving all the attention, the chief advisor's position has also always appealed to me more than that of the outright decision maker, when it comes to making a decision I'll seek to safe-consult with others before acting where possible; less because I'm afraid to make a decision but more because I want to be 100% sure it's the right one (I'll always go into unknown territory, but I'll always inquire for a map and ask the locals first).

When I'm completely in a new place with a new group of people it'll depend on the circumstances. In such situations I can be either completely shy, reserved, reclusive and emotionless or alternatively very outgoing and sociable; it strongly depends on the group pf people I'm sat with. I'm quick to strike a conversation with most anyone, but I'm also uncomfortable with imposing myself upon others. I think this may have to do with the fact that I was an outsider for most of my childhood, but have been quickly accepted into any group for most of my adolescence and adulthood.

As a whole I'd say I'm more extroverted than introverted in social situations, and prefer to spend my more introverted phases with myself rather than in public view. In women, I like a sociable (in the group) but arguably more introverted (elsewhere) type, this helps balance some things out.
-In kalte Schatten versunken...

(Heimdalls Wacht, In kalte Schatten versunken, stanzas 4-6)

    Your like me Sigurd.

There is a good way in getting loads of attention, that is to travel to another country. Though, I never been overseas I do have good example.
I were in a country Victorian pub and realized no men were paying attention to me, so I told a white lie that I was born in another country and to my amazement, I was the most popular girl in the pub. The other girls were getting jealous of me Ive been longing to go to another country for this very reason etc... My Australian accent would be out of the ordinary! (probably not in the UK as for there is so many Aussies living there)

Even in Australia, If I hear European / American accent my head turns directly at that person regardless of their sex.

Just for the record, yes. I do enjoy attention.

Of course, I suppose that comes from being an extrovert.

    Introverts love attention too.

I must admit, I pretend I don't love attention In public, but really, I love attention, I just don't show it in public. Extroverts, more likely, show in public that they love attention. I wished I could open up a little.

I like being the center of attention when I am comporting myself well.

If I make a mistake though I tend to dwell on it obsessively and this deeply damages any pleasure I recieve.

Also I seem to be able to be confident at will. Most of the time I actively try not to be confident because confidence is a source of mistakes for me (by putting myself out there not in itself) and I don't want to go through the obsessive reliving of the mistake thing, but if need be I can just turn off the part of me that is nervous, its not an instant thing, I can't just turn it off like a switch but give me a day to put my mind in a different place and I am like a whole different person.

I like being the center of attention for all the good reasons, and of people who are significant in my life. In my family I was always the center of attention, and we were many kids. Now it hasn't changed a lot. Of course I don't like negative attention, but I can handle it.

I dislike being the center of attention because the attention of others is fickle, outside one's control. Better to be at the side of the room, more stable power that way too.

I prefer to be the observer, and maintain a low profile for security reasons. This way the element of surprise is to my advantage should events go south.

I liked to be liked and subtle praise, but I don't like people kissing my arse or being on show.
