His content of his Youtube channel "ThuleanPerspective" is not that bad. Some videos and ideas are great, some are illusional or simply wrong. But I respect how he lives now. I don“t see him as an enemy or traitor.

I find his YouTube channel entertaining for what it is worth.

The thing I find most puzzling is that he knows a lot about folk culture from the historic era, but never wrights or does videos about those subjects.

Grishnack is a joke. His idea of blondism as everything doesn't compute very deeply. Hair color is known to skip generations. It all depends on how the same DNA is spliced between the available genes. I got a wife who is blonde in the summer and ginger in the winter. I carry both genes and this made our children carry on so-called "recessive" traits.

Varg's followers think they are 'a little bit mixed' if they are not blond and blue-eyed and are expecting a new Ice Age. I think I'll stay outside that little cult.

People who whine about his comments on brown hair and brown eyes are just jealous and insecure. He doesn't say "everyone with dark hair/eyes is mixed race", he's stating the obvious that these traits did not originate in Europe. All he's saying is that some people show these trace foreign traits, particularly Southern Europeans. It's not controversial if you aren't in denial and have the most basic grasp of science and genetics. Like many other blonde people I have these traits in my family. I wouldn't be surprised if Varg has somewhere too, given how much Celts spread out. No one's making the baseless claim that Northern Europeans who are blonde and blue-eyed are guaranteed 100% European and that anyone who isn't blonde is mixed race.

It isn't a cult, the alt-right is a cult, basically everyone on the alt-right has the same mentality as a Scientologist, they routinely attack their equivalent of "suppressive persons", as soon as someone attacks the Jewish death cult that is Christianity they are attacked for being "divisive", and if anyone attacks Capitalism, or heaven forbid says it's even worse than Communism, then they must be a socialist traitor. Like any stereotypical cultists they are incapable of taking criticism, and like Christians and leftists even, they seem to think they have some kind of monopoly on patriotism, and think they're more pro-European than everyone else. The reality is any nihilistic, culty counter-culture movement has its own idea of what "Britishness" means, or what "British values" mean, the same goes for other countries.

Varg is right to be cynical about scholars. The majority of them lack credibility, and out of the studies that do actually prove useful, you don't need a pseudo-intellectual like Survive the Jive to tell you about them. You can just find them on google. He is also right to be cynical about civilisation, which is clearly responsible for our steady decline and the sad state we're in now. Being civilised doesn't make anyone superior, it makes them 100% dependent, on centralised government, on products and technology they no longer how to make or use and on the capitalist economy for food, because they have forgotten how to find or catch food themselves (unlike the oh-so-inferior "savages" in third world countries). He promotes a healthy focus on the simple life, on cutting out all the unnecessary crap and on sustainable living. He has already done far more to benefit Europe and Europeans than the entire alt-right movement combined has.

As for it being a "cult", I see a lot of cults on youtube in the alt-right/lite - around Sargon of Akkad and his sad "Kekistan" fanboys, around the Golden One and his homoerotic gym obsessives and around the blatantly dubious shills like Tara McCarthy and Spencer himself (who has links to the CIA and Bush family, and whose mother is a homewrecker). The commenters on Varg's channel have been encouraged to get down to earth and live the simple life. There is nothing wrong whatsoever with being humble enough to look to someone else for guidance and inspiration, and to acknowledge them as a huge influence and source of information. If these people (myself included) only watched Varg's channel, relied solely on him for guidance, and believed his word is the be all and end all, then it would be a cult, but that isn't the case. Varg's ideas are also far from unique or revolutionary - they are essentially a mixture of tribalist and anarcho-primitivist views, a lot of what he focuses on isn't all that different from what Thoreau addresses in Walden, or what Pentti Linkola addresses in his articles, or what Evola wrote about. He doesn't claim to be a prophet or revolutionary either - he acknowledges his influences.

Lastly I also respect Varg a lot for being against Patreon, and repeatedly discouraging anyone from donating to him on youtube. He makes an honest living from his works that have actually cost him time and money to do, i.e. music and rpgs, he doesn't take a few minutes to film and upload a video then beg his followers to provide his living expenses like many alt-right figures do. People can be cynical about how Varg "has it easy" and how he got pretty famous and a guaranteed income through Burzum, but you can only make so much through record labels, and despite this he did spend 16 years of his life in prison. He obviously knows what he's doing, and he makes his life a lot easier by stripping down. People who want to survive the collapse of Europe and afford to get their own property/land and raise plenty of kids could learn a lot from him. Most of the alt-right figures on the other hand are childless. They seem more interested in posturing and hosting 3 hour long podcasts than they do in anything productive that actually benefits their tribe or environment.

I can see why race traitors with a Judeo-Christian mentality would hate him regardless, though (not directed at anyone in particular here).

Yes. The over-saturation of every field with degrees has made them almost worthless and the quality of education has gone very low to keep up with the degree printing. The quotas for papers have also made things even worse as most people write crappy, pointless often falsified articles just to keep up with it. Then those people get the chair one day, and produce an even worse generation, and so on...

Varg Vikernes Claims Autistic People Are Better Than Normies and Not Vaccine-Damaged

Guys, autism is not on the rise because children are getting injected with neurotoxins like mercury and aluminum. Autism is like a super-power, according to this demented LARPer. Video here.

    Burzum’s Thulźan Mysteries

Thulźan Mysteries is the 13th album released by infamous Varg Vikernes under his working name Burzum. Mysteries comes after Vikernes previously stated that he was finished recording under the Burzum name. To that effect, Mysteries is a collection of tracks that Vikernes has been working on since his last album that were not intended for release as a cohesive unit. While Mysteries, therefore, lacks some continuity, it is still a project with several gems nestled inside that make for remarkable listening under the right set and setting. I will admit that I hated this album on my first listen. I wrote half of this review, panning it, before the album “clicked” and I deleted everything I had written in order to start anew. In many ways, this act was fitting for the record; though mostly instrumental, Vikernes dwells on themes of fleetingness, death, and identity in his trademark opaque style.

Vikernes, born Kristian Vikernes, and legally named Louis Cachet, made a name for himself in the Norwegian black metal scene as “Count Grishnack,” playing in bands such as Mayhem, where he met Ųystein “Euronymous” Aarseth — famously murdering him in 1993. Aside from killing Euronymous, Vikernes was convicted of multiple arsons targeting Christian churches in Norway. He was released from prison in 2009. While incarcerated, several albums were released under the Burzum name, mostly in the ambient style, save his most well-known release Filosofem, considered now a black metal standard. Nowadays, he records videos — which he uploaded to YouTube before they removed him from the platform — under the name ThuleanPerspective, and it’s likely most anyone who reads Counter-Currents is aware of Vikernes’ general worldview and reputation in these spheres.

Vikernes himself notes that Mysteries was not intended to be a well-defined record. In what may be the most amusing statement from a musician I’ve read in my life, he explains the album’s concept on his Bandcamp page:

Since my true passion has never been music, but actually tabletop role-playing games, I figured I should make this an album intended for that use; as background music for my own MYFAROG (Mythic Fantasy Role-playing Game). Hopefully you will get a sense of Thulź when you listen to this, like always with Burzum, ideally when on your own.

Such a description made me hopeful. It’s exactly the sort of mildly autistic concept that could make for truly innovative recordings. Grimes based her debut studio album Geidi Primes on Frank Herbert’s Dune, Neutral Milk Hotel’s In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is conceptually grounded upon Jeff Mangum’s weird dreams about Anne Frank, and Psychic TV’s Genesis P-Orridge and Richard Norris mixed Jack the Tab/Tekno Acid Beat simply to fool people into thinking Britain had an acid house scene. (It worked.) Thulźan Mysteries has similar energy; you have to commit to its premise to truly enjoy it. This doesn’t mean fantasy role-playing games, though this album would be suitable background noise for such a pursuit, like Vikernes intended. Rather, Mysteries calls for some suspension of disbelief. The chants, hums, and hymns that compose the album bridge the gap between otherworldly and intensely familiar for their marriage of near-ancient European musical tradition with spacey, inescapably modern compositional sensibilities that speak to the ennui that haunts the European psyche.

The rawness of the album may be on account of its spontaneous creation. Unguided by an overarching theme or concept, Vikernes recorded off and on, with the songs on his album reflecting states of mind and creative flights that are transient in nature:

Thulźan Mysteries was made passively, in the sense that I never intended to make a new album; I just made music every now and then and at one point realized that I actually had enough to release it all on an album. When asked to do so I figured: why not?

The individuality of the album’s tracks is both a great strength and weakness. Many of the songs are short, concise explorations of a particular mood or instrument, while some are longer and generally more meditative. The absence of great upheavals within the album’s songs themselves helps make the fabric of the record feel less like a mismatched hodge-podge and more like a patterned quilt.

I will preface with the admission that I am not well-versed in Nordic mysticism nor do I speak much Norwegian. (My excuse is that I am of mostly Central European stock.) My interpretations of some tracks are therefore necessarily abstract, though I did my best to give this record a close read. I also believe that its symbolism taken as a whole is more important than those of individual tracks.

Mysteries begins with “The Sacred Well.” It is a chorally-grounded ambient tune that moves purposefully with its modulated, bright synthesizer. “Well” sets the tone for the album well, emphasizing the album’s simplicity and devotion to how little details — like the bells at the song’s conclusion — will define each track and their purposes.

“The Loss of a Hero” follows, a 55-second display of hypnotic string-plucking and purposeful drumming set to similar synthesizer work from the previous track.

“ForeBears” is the album’s first lengthy piece, at 4 minutes 4 seconds, and it features a plaintive guitar riff alongside gentle touches of harmony and tasteful basslines. Vikernes left the harmonics of his strumming in the track, and he plays slightly out of time, as well, making “ForeBears” a somber meditation on how ethereal a set of notes can truly be.

“A Thulźan Perspective” features a piano melody that wanders across a Medieval-influenced soundscape. “Perspective” is also one of the album’s longer songs, at 4 minutes and 2 seconds, creating a similarly sparse and contemplative atmosphere as the previous track. Upon first listen, tracks like “Perspective” come across as repetitive and uninspired. But their genius lies in their ability to maintain one mood, consistently, across 4 minutes without resorting to endlessly sustained sounds, as is typical for a drone or ambient release.

“Gathering of Herbs” is very clearly Medieval in its composition, featuring a well-crafted harp melody. It’s one of the album’s shorter tracks, and it follows the album’s established pattern of exhibiting one particular arrangement for its length.

“Heill auk Sęll” is the next track. The title is a deliberately archaic spelling of the greeting “heil og sęl” common in Icelandic and closely associated with nationalism in Scandinavia due to its use by the Nasjonal Samling and closeness to the German “Heil.” “Sęll” consists of primitive drumming and repeated chanting of the track’s title, with variation throughout, invoking the atmosphere of rituals, pagan magick, and communal incantation. It is one of the album’s most moving — and, in a sense, terrifying — tracks due to its simplicity and esoteric nature.

“Jöttunheimr” is a darkwave track with odd sounds that mimic the cry of animals. It is mildly unsettling, lasting 1 minute 39 seconds.

“Spell-Lake Forest” is another short track, at 1 minute 7 seconds, centered around a descending scale and brass flourishments. The main melody seems to be generated by a pan flute, highly affected by reverb and modulation.

“The Ettin Stone Heart” features piano and string plucks, met halfway through with a mildly syncopated bassline.

“The Great Sleep” features Vikernes’ singing over a 4:4 knock and a two-note melody. “Sleep” is a good example of Vikernes’ ability to capture the sublime; over its minute and a half, he puts on an impressive display of range and ability to meld sparse arrangements together in such a way that it does not compromise the track’s negative space.

White Genocide Advocate Varg Vikernes Explains What “Ethnopluralism” Really Means

Recently Sinead covered how “ethnopluralism” really just amounts to another way to achieve White genocide, which confused some readers who have been listening to fashy right-wingers about how it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Wiktionary provides us with a quick definition, although there is obviously more that could be said about the concept.

"A right-wing theory of multiculturalism, supporting separatism, and according to which cultures are bound to specific geographic locations."

We read more about ethnopluralism here, which should give White people some cause for concern:

    • In opposition to imperialism and colonialism, it disallows the invasion of other ethnic groups; it values diversity on a global scale.
    • In opposition to multiculturalism, it disallows mass immigration that undermines the host group’s ethnocultural identity.

    "Go back to Europe, gringo!”

It seems that Varg Vikernes agrees with the “New Right” (ie Neo-Bolshevik) theory of ethnopluralism, wherein White people do not belong anywhere outside of Europe.

Something that immediately became apparent to me is that this theory of “multiculturalism” could be used to ethnically cleanse White people from lands our ancestors colonized centuries ago, binding us permanently to specific regions like Europe.

There is one exception for Varg, though, wherein “colonizers” are perfectly acceptable in their recently acquired land, because they are not White. Of course I am talking about Israel.

The last post is kind of full of straw men. To begin with, I've yet to come across an ethnopluralist who actually seriously believes people of European extraction should hand over the "former colonies" to a few thousand indigenous folks. That would, naturally, be a folly.

The mentioned Israel story is more difficult than meets the eye at first. Of course any folk will have the right to form a sovereign nation - and in some cases this will bring strife as different ethnicities will lay claim to similar stretches of land.

In the conflict "down there", objectively speaking both sides have a valid argument, but both whine to the rest of the world to sort their issues out. That being said, there is some people who also base their advocacy for Israel's right to existence on the idea that a Jewish homeland might, in its final consequence, mean that said people will collectively "repatriate" there instead of being in Europe and the US. I can imagine how Varg could be in that camp.

The big point is to not put it on some sort of pedestal, neither in the positive nor in the negative fashion. It's neither the devil of the world nor the "first European vanguard defense line" (Wilders' et. al. gibberish), it's just a sovereign nation like others which should be lauded for doing do odd thing right and criticised for the odd criminal conduct, and met with indifference as for being a completely different part of the world on most days.
-In kalte Schatten versunken...

(Heimdalls Wacht, In kalte Schatten versunken, stanzas 4-6)
