I hope Spain remains so weak and out of shape as against Croatia. I can´t see this boring middlefield kicking of them anymore. They do always the same. They play the ball in their ranks, the opponent runs and try to get the ball until he gets tired. Then occur gaps in the defensive and Spain scores a goal.

It´s a shame that Russia and Netherlands aren´t in anymore. I like their offensive playstyle. Guus Hiddink is a great coach with interesting systems.

To Sweden. I think they had bad luck. The 2:3 against England was undeserved especially the last goal of England because the black has scored it as Sweden seems to have the control of the game. Against France they have shown that they have on good days a strong team. Even if france doens´t give 100%, players like Ribery, Menez, Nasri, Benzema, Giroud are world class and dangerous on every day.

I don't agree that it is Spains fault that they play great tactical game.
I think it's the oppsite from what you're saying. Why won't other teams get themselves together and not being so afraid and move their midfielders higher also their defensive line. Well that's probaly bacause Spain would beat the crap out of them.

So what I'm saying is you can't complain about Spains play when most of the teams have their whole team playing as a defense when Spains tries to attack.
That's why the game seems "boring".

I wouldn't call it bad luck when a team loses a game. Bacause if the team had won would someone call it good luck? I has nothing to do with good luck or bad luck. When you play Lotto is when you could count on luck, bacause then you control nothing. In sports you're either in control or not.

I really think Sweden got together and did a good job against France. But that was one game, and the game had no meaning at all, not to Sweden and to a lesser degree to France. Of course one could speculate that France could have a better position for the quarter finals though, if they won...

Spain is really an awful side to watch, though - yes, it may get the job done, but they're one of the most boring lineups in history. Against weaker teams, that ridiculous passing and efforts to wear the opposition down forces the latter to defend and throw a wall up in front of the net, resulting in dull play and low scores. It doesn't always work, either (see Switzerland's victory at the last World Cup). However, after those Italy and Croatia matches I must say Spain doesn't look that good against decent opposition. That could be down to Del Bosque's habit of fielding few or no strikers in the group stage, which will not be repeated in the finals, but they're vulnerable nonetheless. Also, countries trying to emulate Spain's style of play have resulted in overly-defensive tactics limiting the number of goals. We don't see those 5-3 kind of matches as in previous eras.

Yes, I'm also starting to find Spain a bit boring because their game is so predictable and I now think they're close to being sussed out.

However, for me the team that has been top of the boredom league for decades is without doubt Italy. They just play a game based on stopping the opposition by closing down all the space on the pitch and they know every imaginable dirty trick to go with this

I really hope England can find a way through their defensive quagmire on Sunday evening but it won't be a free-flowing game, that's for sure!

I would like to once again stress the fact is that Spains play look boring because the opponent teams are using their whole team as a defensive line. Imagine all 10 players + the goalie act as defenders. THAT is boring. It is not Spain that dictates their line up. Why won't the opponents attack, it's up to them to decide.

I've seen this kind of behaviour in a lot of sports that a defensive team looks boring. Just check a defensive tennis player against a attacker, looks boring as well and so on.

Germany vs Greece - This will be a great match today. Jogi has finally changed the Team (starting line-up). Reus for Müller, Schürrle for Podolski and Klose for Gomez.
If Reus plays nearly so good today as in the Bundesliga season ... poor greeks.
I wish all a beautiful evening with football.

I think the game is rather very tough, as the Greeks just play so defensively, and the many changing on the starting line-up, I see a little concerned.

Nevertheless, I believe in a win, my tip 2-0 for Germany

    Sorry for my bad english.

I don't know anything about soccer, but I'll root for The Netherlands first and Germany second (my wife's heritage).

The Netherlands are out, but Germany reached the semi-finals yesterday. It was another strong showing, and good to see the younger generation being given time on the field. That was the first time I've seen Reus play; he was brilliant and should start against England/Italy. It's incredible that Germany can field an "understrength" lineup and still effortlessly dominate the opposition.
