Horrific Footage Shows Moment Israeli Army Officer Smashed Danish Peace Protester in Face with His Rifle

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ace-rifle.html

A senior Israeli army officer who smashed a pro-Palestinian protester in the face with his gun has been suspended after footage of the horrific incident was put online.
Lieutenant-Colonel Shalom Eisner is seen ramming his M-16, with both hands, into Danish national Andreas Ias's face as activists took part in a bicycle rally in the occupied West Bank.
The video from Saturday's incident shows him falling to the ground and then being carried away by activists.
Scroll down to see the video...

Smashed: Lieutenant-Colonel Shalom Eisner (left) is seen ramming his M-16, with both hands, into Danish national Andreas Ias's face (right) as activists took part in a bicycle rally in the occupied West Bank

Brutal: In the video, the protester is not seen provoking the officer before he is smashed in the face

Treatment: Fellow bike riders rushed to the victim's aid after he was hit in the face by a senior Israeli army officer
Ias was treated in a Palestinian hospital for 'light injuries' and today told Israeli media he was 'well'.
He told Israel's Channel 10 TV station: 'We were just walking slowly towards the soldiers, we were chanting Palestinian songs calling for the liberation of Palestine. I don't believe that's a provocation.'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned the officer's actions.
He said: 'This behaviour is not characteristic of IDF (Israel Defence Forces) soldiers and commanders and it has no place in the IDF or in the state of Israel.'

Violence: Further scuffles broke out between army officers and the protesters

Protest: Activists trying to get hold of their bikes were told to go away by Israeli army officers
But Israeli military spokesman Yoav Mordechai said that, although the officer's behaviour was unacceptable and he had been suspended following an initial investigation, the edited video 'did not reflect the whole story'.
He said: 'These are harsh pictures, but I still can't divorce the filmed episodes from the incident that lasted over an hour. It included violence by the anarchists and Palestinians, (though) this does not justify what we see.'
The incident came as Channel 10 broadcast a report on Sunday about how Israel would attack Iran's nuclear facilities if diplomacy and sanctions between the two countries completely break down.

Treatment: This protester was taken to an ambulance where her wounds were taken care of, following the incident
Alon Ben-David said he spent several weeks with military pilots to gain a unique insight into Israel's military thinking. He predicted no order would be given to strike before P5+1 talks resume in May.
But he added that, if negotiations failed and the order to attack was given, then 'dozens if not more planes' would attack.
He said: 'The Israel Air Force does not have the capacity to destroy the entire Iranian programme. The result won’t be definitive.'
The attack, the channel said, would presumably trigger a war in northern Israel, with missile attacks. He added: 'There will be no tranquility and peace anywhere in Israel.'

He should have been on his own land securing it from Muslims, not screwing with ZOG on their own turf for some other race and land, besides you dont go to a gun battle empty handed. So I can say that Dane is a fool!

I can't feel especially sorry for that Danish peace protester, since he likely supports multiculturalism, Islam and anti-nationalism in his own country. The Israel-Palestine conflict has nothing to do with him. He should've just stayed at home.

'Peace activist' is just a synonym for 'professional troublemaker'. Yes, the Israeli soldier in this clip overreacted, but we do not know precisely what had happened before this and these 'protesters' are no strangers to stirring up trouble and acting completely unreasonable, maliciously and asinine when dealing with figures of authority, like police and military. These hoodlums exploit the fact that police and military are bound by rules, thinking that they themselves are untouchable.

I am not saying that he deserved getting his face smashed in but he should not look to stir up trouble in another country and expect any different.

Israeli Soldier Clubs Danish Protester With Rifle

    The Guardian (Britain)

Denmark has demanded an explanation from the Israeli government for video footage showing a senior Israeli army officer striking a Danish activist in the face with an M16 rifle, an act which has been sharply criticised by the Israeli prime minister, president and chief of staff. In the video, Lt Col Shalom Eisner, deputy commander of the Jordan Valley territorial brigade, is clearly seen slamming his rifle into the face of Andreas Ias. There was no obvious reason for the assault in the clip, which was broadcast on Israeli television and posted on YouTube.

Israeli celebrity says she enjoyed video of IDF attacking Danish activist because he looked like a Nazi

She said his golden hair made him look like a member of the Hitlerjugend, and said about him and other activists: “they were born anti-Semites and will die anti-Semites”

Left out of the 60-second video, of course, are the two hours of physical attacks and provocations which preceded the event. According to Eisner, who has been condemned for not using the water cannon and gas grenades at his disposal, “There was no reason for me to fire a gas grenade as there had been no violence in the course of two hours of dialogue… I decided it would be better to let them calm down,” he told Ynet’s Yoav Zitun.

But then, to his surprise, the 60 activists were suddenly joined by two busloads of ISM members who attempted to block Road 90, a major artery filled with holidaymakers heading towards the popular nature trails in the northern part of the country. At that point, protesters began attacking soldiers, leaving Eisner with a broken finger and injuries that required a cast on his hand. Taken by surprise, he used his weapon to deflect the attack.

The ISM members, Eisner said: “risked my life and the lives of many others.” Still, the officer, highly regarded for his integrity, morality and professionalism by his fellow soldiers, admitted: “I should not have flung my weapon like that.”
