Exclamation Which Companies Are Using Aborted Human Fetuses ?

Last week, Oklahoma State Senator Ralph Shortey introduced a bill that would ban "the manufacture or sale of food or products which use aborted human fetuses." But which foods or products use aborted human fetuses? Let's investigate.
NPR speculates that Shortey's bill has to do with a recent boycott aimed at PepsiCo for working with a company called Senomyx that "has been accused of using proteins derived from human embryonic kidney cells in its research." Quoth Shortey:
The senator says that his research shows there are companies in the food industry that have used human stem cells to help them research and develop products, including artificial flavorings.
"I don't know if it is happening in Oklahoma, it may be, it may not be. What I am saying is that if it does happen then we are not going to allow it to manufacture here," Shortey tells KRMG's Nicole Burgin.
As an impartial journalistic outlet, we're not here to tell you that Ralph Shortey is an utter moron whose incompetent attempts to ban stem cell-derived medicine reveal his all-encompassing idiocy, nor to tell you that the use of aborted human fetuses in food would already be in clear violation of a variety of different federal and state laws. Nor, for that matter, are we here to tell you that you should or should not be eating aborted human fetuses. What we are here to do is find out what foods are made using aborted human fetuses. We've contacted a number of the country's largest food companies and asked: do you use aborted human fetuses in your food products?

Obama agency rules Pepsi use of cells derived from aborted fetus ordinary business

LARGO, FL, March 5, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Pepsi Company, which is set to release the new product Pepsi Next in the coming weeks, is facing a more robust boycott as pro-life activists protest the company use of cells derived from an aborted fetus in flavor-enhancing research. But Pepsi has succeeded, with help from the Obama Administration, in keeping its controversial operations from consideration by its shareholders.

In a decision delivered Feb 28th, President Obamas Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) ruled that PepsiCos use of cells derived from aborted fetal remains in their research and development agreement with Senomyx to produce flavor enhancers falls under ordinary business operations.

The letter signed by Attorney Brian Pitko of the SEC Office of Chief Counsel was sent in response to a 36-page document submitted by PepsiCo attorneys in January, 2012. In that filing, PepsiCo pleaded with the SEC to reject the Shareholders Resolution filed in October 2011 that the company adopt a corporate policy that recognizes human rights and employs ethical standards which do not involve using the remains of aborted human beings in both private and collaborative research and development agreements.

PepsiCo lead attorney George A. Schieren noted that the resolution should be excluded because it deals with matters related to the companys ordinary business operations and that certain tasks are so fundamental to run a company on a day-to-day basis that they could not be subject to stockholder oversight.

Debi Vinnedge, Executive Director of Children of God for Life, the organization that exposed the PepsiCo-Senomyx collaboration last year was appalled by the apathy and insensitivity of both PepsiCo executives and the Obama administration.

Were not talking about what kind of pencils PepsiCo wants to use we are talking about exploiting the remains of an aborted child for profit, she said. Using human embryonic kidney (HEK-293) to produce flavor enhancers for their beverages is a far cry from routine operations!

PepsiCo also requested the resolution be excluded because it probed too deeply into matters of a complex nature upon which shareholders cannot make an informed judgment.

In other words, PepsiCo thinks its stockholders are too stupid to understand what they are doing with the remains of aborted children, Vinnedge stated. Well they are about to find out just how smart the public really is when they turn up the heat on the world-wide boycott!

Oklahoma Senator Ralph Shortey has proposed a bill SB1418 banning the sale of products that are developed with or contain aborted fetal remains. In the case of Pepsi products, the cells derived from the aborted fetus do not end up in the final product.

We commend the Senator for his courageous move, noted Vinnedge. The public is already saying no thanks to all Pepsi beverages and Pepsi Next is just that the next product to avoid!

To date, the world-wide boycott has expanded to include Canada, Germany, Poland, UK, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Portugal, Australia and New Zealand

Rebecca Taylor, a Technologist in Molecular Biology, has compiled a list of companies that use cells and tissues derived from aborted babies to develop their products, which range from childhood vaccines to cosmetics. Her list includes one English company, ReNeuron, which has applied for clinical trials in the United States.

If a food company did that and got caught it would be all over for them very quickly. I doubt they'd take the risk. If they did they are foolish.

This doesn't add up and something smells fishy.

IF they are putting these cells into these products, the real question is WHERE are they getting them? WHO i providing the cells and WHO is providing the aborted fetuses to them?

And what kind of research results are they expecting from such a disgusting "experiment"??

I'll withhold judgment but this sounds almost hoaxish....

That is because there is a weak link to HEK 293 cells. The cells where used from the liver one aborted fetus back in the 70s. These have been cultured in a lab, in a Petri dish or whatever they use. A company that works with Pepsi at some point mentioned these cells in a patent. Something separate to their work with Pepsi.

Seems like a politician either doesn't research things properly. Or he has an ulterior motive to pass this law.

When it comes to politicians I always assume corruption. Rarely are there good intentions....

The Obama Administration has given its blessing to PepsiCo to continue utilizing the services of a company that produces flavor chemicals for the beverage giant using aborted human fetal tissue.

So, drink Pepsi and be a cannibal. I wonder if RC Cola also uses fetal kidney cells to flavour it's product?

By the way. I just checked. Pepsi is kosher.
