Question What is with All the Halal and Kosher?

Walking around the super market, a lot of the packaging says Halal or has a K on it.

    Even these M & M.

Halal and kosher are two names for the same old testament food laws. Basically, if it's kosher-compliant, it's also halal compliant.

It's just another way to kneel at the feet of those who would be master.

Products marked kosher also have a tax on them that finances the work of Jewish supremacist group B'nai B'rith, Jewish terror organisation ADL etc and of course their offshots around the globe.

Check your fridge and storage for these signs

Kosher and Halal are also integral part of the Food Safety Act, and continuous increase in kosher/halal products can be expected.

It should be pointed out, however, that it doesn't work the other way. Halal food is not kosher. Halal food is now getting into our food supply everywhere, but kosher food isn't.

    Thanks for the info, velvet!

Also worth pointing out is that any product with a 729 bar code comes from Israel.

It usually just means the foods ingredients are compatible with Muslim (Halal) or Jewish (Kosher) dietry laws. If it is meat or includes meat it means it has been slaughtered in accordance to Muslim or Jewish ritual slaughter rules.

Having the food certified as Kosher or Halal makes it easier for companies to sell to Muslims and Jews, and thus a larger number of consumers targeted. The Kosher tax is a myth.

New Zealand has banned the kosher slaughter of animals.

Then you shouldn't get a Kosher symbol on anything with meat in it, unless it is imported.

The Kosher tax is a myth.
Yes and no. The food companies pay a rabbi to certify the food as kosher, and the price that they pay the rabbi is added to the cost of the food that he certified. And all the ingredients in the food that the rabbi certified have to have been separately certified by a rabbi, so the ingredient companies pass the cost on to the food manufacturers who pass the cost on to the end consumer.

This is a multimillion dollar industry. The certifying rabbis don't usually keep the money for themselves. Most of them work for a kosher certifying company which makes a profit. The rabbis themselves work for a salary. Much of the profit gets sent to Yidsrael.

The sums involved on any particular item are negligible. A fraction of a penny. Nonetheless, if I am buying ketchup, for instance, I look at the various brands for a kosher symbol and if an acceptable brand does not have one, I buy that. I don't want to give the yids even a few pennies a week. Unfortunately, most items have them these days.
