    Unnaturally Coloured Hair

We’re not talking about bleached blonde hair or blonde hair dyed black.

What do you think about trends of colouring the hair blue, purple, pink, green, etc.?

Depending on the case, it can look really cute, or really trashy.

I think it looks super cool on young women (18-25) with alternative or goth dress style, especially if they have pale skin to contrast the intense colours.

It can look pretty trashy on older women with no particular dress style, or -and especially- women with dark skin and dark features (eyes, eyebrows, etc).

In any case it's something I'd do (and have done as a college student) for a short period of time, just for fun. I wouldn't go around in purple hair for a long period of time or when I have a job that presupposes contact with the public.

I did this a few years ago with the kind of dye that washes out over time. I put a few streaks of light blue in the underside of my hair and it was back to normal in a month or two.

I think it has the potential to look really neat but I know some people who have destroyed their hair doing this. Apparently if you don't have light hair you have to bleach it to get it to some of the lighter colors like orange or pink. It is definitely not worth all that. I've also never really liked the bright fake red. I don't know why, but I think that that color in particular usually looks bad.

I have no problem with red or purple/pink highlights like the ones in the second picture. They look really cute, especially if they are small. It becomes a bit ugly when the majority of your hair is dyed an unnatural color.

If I would like to run around and be seen as a village idiot I´d definitely dye my hair like that. I think that´s too bold and not natural. As someone who has dyed her hair from medium-brown to reddish-brown (what great step...) for a while, I know that I will never use more extreme colors.

I hate it. On women I find it unattractive, on guys it just makes me question "what are you doing?"

Dying hair in general is a strange trend because often I find a person looks best in their natural hair color, but unnatural colors are just stupid IMO.

I dyed my hair fire truck red about a year ago Personally I like it.

It looks good as long as it's done well and maintained.. You see people who let their hair grow out and they have pink hair with long dark roots, that's ugly.

The bleach job on my hair didn't come out right because I had my hair colored brown and my roots were grown out. So the roots bleached and held the red color perfectly, but the rest of my hair came out orange. It looked cool though, luckily.

Even though my ancestry is English, Germany is my favorite country.

I think some people with the right complexion and hair coloring can pull off bright streaks very well, but, generally speaking, I don't think unnatural-looking hair is appropriate off of a high school or college campus. It's really just a matter of taste, though, I guess.

I have my mom's hair, and she started going grey at age 20, so when that happens to me, I'm planning on dying my hair a color redder than my current hair, but only a coppery red - not a "ginger" red and definitely not a Franka-Potente-in-Lola-Rennt-type firetruck red.
