    Even if the toilets in your country are just holes in the ground......it should be obvious.
    Proud to be Germanic.

    Even though my ancestry is English, Germany is my favorite country.

    We have these 'holes in the floor' in our older trains as well. There is usually a sign that prohibits using the toilet while the train is still standing in the station

    On smaller rest areas in France I often found little cabins with a hole in the ground and two handles left and right on the walls. If you managed to not pee your pants wet, the flush squirted water all over the place and you ended up wet anyhow I only visited such a place once!

    On bigger rest areas in Spain I saw signs especially designed for Muslims: "Do not use the basin to wash your feet. Facilities for this purpose can be found outside".

    Reminds me of a video SpearBrave posted long ago;

    ^ I had thought he was Mexican but this took place in Winnipeg so he is probably local Indian - Cree or Ojibwa.

    I know many of the toilets in Asia are "unusual" which require squatting. A Japanese toilet;

    This reminds me of a problem that my workplace had a little while ago. Immigrants who shat on the toilet. Boot marks on the toilet seat, faeces all over.
    They even caught one guy in the act, but he of course, denied it, even with his pants down.

    It was so bad that the board even wrote a very angry note that all departments had to read at meetings They also suggested toilet training for non-westerns.

    Those poor railway workers!

    Not to upset anyone to much, this might actually be better than sitting on a shit smeared seat.

    I'm not sure the Japs are as bad as the other races.

    More hygiene issues:

    An Australian politician on Tuesday defended controversial calls for new migrants to be taught to wear deodorant, saying her remarks about cultural awareness of hygiene had been blown out of proportion.

    Teresa Gambaro, a conservative MP who speaks about citizenship issues for the opposition, sparked a public backlash for suggesting that immigrants coming to Australia on work visas should be taught about social norms.

    Wearing deodorant and standing patiently in queues without pushing in were some of the issues she nominated as important.

    “Without trying to be offensive we are talking about hygiene and what is an acceptable norm in this country when you are working closely with other co-workers,” Gambaro told The Australian newspaper.

    “Sometimes these things are not talked about because people find them offensive but if people are having difficulty getting a job, for instance, it may relate to their appearance and these things need to be taken into account.”

    The remarks were dismissed as “bizarre and silly” by Immigration Minister Chris Bowen, who said they “could have been expected in 1952 not in 2012”.

    When I was stationed in South Korea, I remember the first time I went to Seoul. Was in the subway station and had to go to take a dump. Opened the first stall and saw just these same type of toilets. Thought they were broke or something. Went on through each stall and saw the same thing. Needless to say, I waited till I was in downtown Seoul and used a real toilet at one of the establishments I went to.
