    Question Are There Dark Faelids?

So, my dad and I are both Faelids, but I've inherited some lighter traits from my Alpine(I think) maternal grandfather, thus causing me to have grey eyes and light brown hair (which seems to be darkening now but that's another matter), but my dad has (or used to have before starting to grey) black hair, green eyes, and light skin with a tint of red. From what I understand, Faelids are blond and blue-eyed, but my dad seems to go against this criteria, though all his other features are clearly of that type. So, what is the reason be behind this?

Sorry if I can't provide any pictures. I'm protecting his privacy.

Though relevant, pigmentation is usually put on back burner when it comes to anthropoligical classifications. A textbook example of Faelid is blonde and blue eyed, but that doesn't mean there aren't darker ones also.

I guess, but it's just that all examples I've seen are blond, and therre was another thread on here somewhere which doesn't mention of anything other than blond for Faelids though it gives a range for others.

The Dalofaelid type is frequently and erroneously associated with features such as blond hair and blue eyes, though they are typically brown haired. The Dalofaelid type is most commonly found in the North German Lowlands. Due to interaction between the Dalofaelid type and the Nordid types which also occupy the same region within Germany, many Dalofaelids have some degree of Nordid admixture, which explains why blondism is often associated with this type. You could say that the Dalofaelid type is stereotypically blond, but like most stereotypes, this is often not the case.

David Coulthard (Scottish) is a relatively pure Dalofaelid type:

    @ Linden:

Is there any difference between dalofaelids and faelids, or are they the same thing?

Sorry for the confusion. The answer to your question is yes, they are both the same sub-race. Bertil J.Lundman, Professor of Physical Anthropology at the University of Uppsala, coined the term 'Faelid' as opposed to 'Dalofaelid'. Both are accurate and frequently used.

For more information regarding the 'Dalofaelid/Faelid' type, I suggest you follow this link:

    Thank you all!

I'm very happy I joined this website. Before, I though my prominent cheekbones and rather snubbish nose were a sign of Mongoloid admixture. That's what everybody in my family thought as well. I used to think I was some hybrid and was kind of dissapointed. But then I found out about Faelids on here, and I feel a whole lot greater.

Well the "Faelid" is a local subvariety of the Dalofaelid or also known as Dalo Nordid phenotype.

Faelid and Daelofaelid are synonyms, they denote a completely unreduced cromagnoid morphology with blondism.
