Judge Reduces Jenny Clarke Rapists Sentences

WEST PALM BEACH — For nearly 17 years, Jenny Clark has taken solace, knowing two men who raped her when she was 17 years old would never leave prison.

All that changed Tuesday when senior Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Edward Garrison threw out the life sentences he imposed in 1995 and ordered Emmanuel Paul and David Slocum to be held in prison for 27 and 29 years respectively.

Clark ran from the courtroom in tears after hearing that Paul could be out in less than 10 years. While it prepared her for Slocum's sentence that was announced about 30 minutes later, she said afterward that she couldn't accept or understand Garrison's decisions.

"I'm just numb," she said after the two hearings ended. "I'm still in shock."
