That makes me really not like Eisenhower. It's like my country ordered the mass deaths of my cousins. ........Why? And then my country abandoned all loyalty to my people a few years after. It's as if the only people trying to save me was a foreign nation, and my country, unopposed, works to destroy or is at least indifferent to the destruction of my people.

This brings whole new light to the 'German holocaust.' Try asking someone about the 'German holocaust' and I bet they will think of something totally different.

It must be terrible to be an older German and have the war and post-war experiences in mind. Greatness lost. Post-war casualties. Other countries thinking you deserved it.

    Dear Friends,

On October 31, 2011 an event will take place in Washington that is very important to history.

At this event, US Major Merrit Drucker of the US armed forces will officially apologize to the German soldiers and their relatives for the terrible treatment German prisoners of war had to go through in the so-called "Rheinwiesenlager". Between 750,000 and 1 million German prisoners of war perished. That was after the war had ended.

The apology will be accepted by Oberstleutnant der Bundeswehr a.D. Max Klaar, who is the President of " Verband Deutscher Soldaten". The event has been made possible through the efforts of Mr. James Bacque, author of the book "Other Losses" which documents what happened in those camps, and US Major Merrit Drucker.

Many of us have praised Mr. Bacque for what he has done for us Germans by the research he has conducted on the subject and that is good. But to put on an event like this requires not only much work, but costs also a lot of money. I believe that we, the worldwide German Community, should at least cover the cost of the event, otherwise our praises ring hollow. All of us, who can effort it, should make a contribution to help carry the load. I have done so and I hope that many of you will do the same. As I wrote above, this event is very important to our history and we owe it to the ones who perished and suffered to make this part of history known to all. If you are able to afford even just a very little please send your contribution to:

    Thank you very much

    Ernst Friedel

    - There are absolutely no expectations made with this message and is only a just in case. With best greetings to you all.

Monday October 31, 2011 at the Courtyard US Capitol Marriott Hotel, 1325 2d St. Northeast, Washington DC 20002, Tel 202 898 4000. The meeting is to be at 2:00 PM in the Congressional and Monument Rooms.

Why are mid-ranked members of the officer corps involved and not the heads of state? Where is Obummer and Biteme and Murkel? Obummer can bow to the Saudi king but send a major to apologize to the Germans?!?

Can't have the highest US officials apologising for the deaths of Germans, whether they be prisoners of war or civilians: that would upset the Jews, and no-one wants that.

Eisenhower was an absolute animal for engineering the deaths of all those surrendered German soldiers by exposure and starvation. It is a real blot on the honour of the Western Allies, whether they acknowledge or not. Bloody disgusting!

Nice... efforts are doubled to "punish" the last few surviving "german war criminals" even month before they die of old age, but the victors of war can confess things like that freely without consequences?

How is this honour defined? How did they earn any honour?

Interesting as of late.....Obama and his administration have been throwing out olive branches to the white left... Very amusing. But yes this was definitely due.

This was and is sure to have not made many a Jewish interest very happy.

Look at this, Obama and his Admin going after Jewish NYC lawyers.

It seems he is finally becoming himself perhaps? http://www.ice.gov/news/releases/1110/111013newyork.htm

Skadi contributors should make little of the fact that a mere US Army major is to deliver the statement of apology. This officer speaks with the authority of the US Government.

What must not for one second be overlooked is the unsurpassed enormity of the admission by the United States Government. It is the most terrible admission of guilt ever made by a nation's leaders, and particularly on behalf of a nation to which we are all supposed to "look up for guidance".

Do not be side-tracked by white elephants. Leave the Jews out of this and concentrate on the crime. Look at what the United States admits:

Contrary to the usages and customs of decency and honour in war, and being a signatory to the Geneva Convention 1929 respecting the humane treatment of their prisoners:

Between April 1945 and 1947 the United States Government of President Harry S. Truman did decide with malice aforethought to murder German prisoners of war at the Rheinwiesen camps in Germany, and now admit the murder up to one million German prisoners of war.

Abdicating their promise under the Geneva Convention 1929 to treat their prisoners with humanity, the United States Government

    (1) provided only uncooked food in such meagre quantities as to guarantee that the deaths of their prisoners would eventually ensue by starvation:

    (2) lodged their prisoners in marshy open meadows exposed to frequent rainfall with no shelter, ensuring that the majority of prisoners would eventually die by exposure, illness and disease particularly during the cold winter months in Germany:

    (3) Failed to provide any form of sanitation

    (4) Contrary to the Geneva Convention 1929, murdered by shooting all prisoners found attempting to escape, or at large after escaping, from the Rheinwiesen camps.

    (5) The Americans, being a thoughtful kind of people, saw immediately the need to cover up these war crimes. They were in clear abdication of their promise under the Geneva Convention 1929. They needed to maintain the pretence that the United States was and is a nation which can be relied upon to fulfill its duties and liabilities under international treaties, and so the expedient found by the United States was to fail to inform the Protecting Powers of the existence of the Rheinwiesen camps under the Geneva Convention 1929, and in fact none was ever visited by the Red Cross.

The man who designed these death camps, General Dwight Eisenhower, one of the greatest mass murderers in history, actually had the gall to convince the American people that he was a suitable candidate for election to the office of President of the United States, an appointment which must now bring that office into eternal disrepute. For four years the decent represenatatives and leaders of the world actually shook hands with this monster.

And here's a grim thought for everybody. What ulterior motive does the United States have in admitting these war crimes sixty-five years after the event? Remember, there's always a price to be paid. Always.

A major is not a flag officer. If any U.S. military officer should offer an apology to the Germans for the butchering of German POWs, and we all know it happened, it should be the chairmen of the joint chiefs. I still feel that this is simply a case of "tossing the dog a bone."
