    Proving Divine

I always learn a lot when I debate atheists.

For some reason atheists seem to be able to provoke my creativity more than anyone else. In fact, I find most other people boring.

Anyway, I am hoping to indirectly learn how to create a warp drive... and I figure I would have to get in a really good argument to do it.

You just need to prove the existence of the divine for yourself; you aren't responsible for what someone else believes since it's irrelevant to your peace of mind and ultimate happiness; foolish atheists (who're just apostates/atheists from the Jesus cult) seem to can't grasp that when I say I believe in the divine (as a non-Christian).. Do they think that I'm trying to convince them? Do they think I'm trying to "save" them?

The problem with atheists is that they have this missionary zeal to try and prove that their own philosophical stance is superior to everyone else's. This stems, I believe, from a deep seated sense of intellectual inferiority. To mask this, they put on the atheistic mask because that's what they think "smart" people do.

Of course atheism has become a religion of its own now. It has its high priests, its own canon/dogma, and its own faithful flocks. It also has its own inquisitions and inquisitors as well.

Something I have noticed with Athiests recently, I am not saying this applies to all of course but just the Athiests I have come across lately.

They seem very troubled that I believe in something, so troubled that even though I never brought it up, they did over and over until they burnt themselves out and left the conversation.

To me this is odd, if anything they should not care at all that I believe and I should be concerned that they don't. But it is the other way around.

Just odd, I also agree with Schopenhauer above, they do believe they are intellectually superior and it quite often goes hand in hand with being a rampant socialist.
I grew up on a belief of honour, courage and the old world values. The world isn't about that anymore, preferring to die a slow death of fast food and cheap thrills.

Atheism is the intellectual veneer of Socialism.

When all is said and done, the only thing that really separates an atheist from a bible thumper is their choice of objects of devotion. The bible thumper has his Jesus and the atheist has his "science", but both are simply two sides of the same coin.

The missionary zeal of the Christian atheists comes from their rebellion against their parent religion, which has a strong missionary cause of its own. Christian atheists and Christian theists are both equally ridiculous.

Indeed. I read somewhere that the atheists who are raised as Christians tend to have a deeply Christian worldview even when they're nominally against all religion. And, of course, the more fanatical they get in their anti-religion preaching, the more they start resembling an organized religion themselves.

I'm a very non-preachy naturalist atheist, but I can understand people's irritation with the ''missionary atheists''.

I was born and raised as a Christian yet I chose to reject, intellectually and intuitively, this religion because I found that it was insulting to both God and humanity.

What someone else believes is what someone else believes; my opinions are enough for myself.

For sake of a religion that was debunked about 2,000 years ago people turn to the purely material.
