    Classify Model Elyse Sewell

    Classify American model Elyse Sewell.

I think she's Keltic-Nordid. She has a very British look.

I think people who aren't from the British Isles would be tempted to mention some form of Asiatic influence, but it's a native type and isn't Mongoloid influenced. Makeup in some pictures does encourage that impression, though. I have no idea what subtype she is. CM influenced, maybe Borreby. The racial type doesn't exist in the working classes. I can think of two Yorkshire people of that type, but I see it a lot more often in other parts of the country, mainly south of me.

She looks somewhat similar to my father who was of British descent (except for a small amount of German ancestry).

Agrippa said that my “…father looks mostly Nordid with Dalofaelid…”, which would probably be quite similar to Elyse Sewell.

She seems to have a few different looks. She reminds me a bit of Katy Perry in Edie's second to last picture. That brings me to another point. It's rare to see Americans who look unmistakably of British descent. In fact, I can only think of two others:

    Katy Perry

    Kirsten Stewart

It's an interesting phenomenon. I have seen it before in certain British celebrities, and I have made the mistake of assuming some sort of admixture.

    Kelly MacDonald, Scottish

There are others, but their names escape me at the moment.

In those pictures, she looks admixed. But in most pictures, she doesn't. I didn't notice anything strange about her appearance in No Country for Old Men either.

In most pictures, she looks like an average Scot:

    She looks nice with makeup:

The first time I saw her was in Gosford Park, she looked subtly admixed, but only in the eye region:

There is a classification thread devoted to her:

People are too quick to label someone as "Mongoloid-influenced" simply based on the appearance of the eyes. It seems that any eye shape that isn't completely typical is chalked up to foreign admixture, even though it may be obvious the eye region's appearance is not from an actual epicanthic fold.

Both of these women are fully Europid. I'd be shocked if they were not.

Of course they're not mixed. The only way Asiatic influence could have reached Britain is by way of Scandinavian settlement (in whom Asiatic admixture is also minimal), and the most genetically Scandinavian region of the British Isles, Orkney, is still 99.7% Caucasoid.

That is of course assuming the entirety of their ancestry is from the British Isles, which we can't be sure of--particularly with the American (although I agree she does look British).

I just think it needed to be pointed out that the default reaction towards somewhat different eye appearance seems to be, "OMG this one's Asian!" when, really, there's no epicanthic fold present. I'd say it's caused by imperfect human perception. Not that that's a bad thing overall; such an ingrained reaction surely helps ward off mixing with Asians. Or at least it did.
