If you don't like the idea of drinking hot tea, ice cold green tea has the same health benefits and also tastes quite good when chilled as well as hot.

Green tea can easily be prepared chilled.

I prepare the tea as usual, then wait for it to cool down and store it in an aluminum bottle in the cold storage or let it cool at room temperature and pour the green tea over a glass filled with ice cubes.

Icy cold green tea on the rocks is especially good on hot days, a much healthier alternative to sodas and sugary drinks, you can drink it and still be ok to drive and also has hydration benefits since a glass of homemade tea has about as much H2O as a glass of water (ok slightly less to make room for the tea), but you get the idea.

I tried this one once before, and I never drunk it again since it taste more like sugar than tea. Won't recommend it. I never had the other two brands ,but they're more than likely equally inferor.

I don't see how they'd "cancel out". I think you'd get the best of both worlds. But the taste quality might be affected. Most tea purists would probably recommend you drink straight one or the other.

Another question: Should I microwave the water first and then put the tea in, or should the water be boiled? Does it make a difference?

We have like 20 different kinds of green teas! The fennel is awesome!

Wallflower, you have a point. Well, I microwave the water for about 2 minutes 30 seconds first, so as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't make a difference.

I've often asked myself the same question: Does taste vary among different heating techniques?
There's something unsettling about sending microwaves through your water to heat it up as opposed to a stove-top heat.

I dont think it matters, what is important is that the water is boiling so the tea will brew properly.

Well you should not microwave tea water to behind with. Boil the water on the stove or in a kettle. If you have no other option, then put the tea bag in after you warm the water and always let green tea steep for 5 mins. I never take my bag out!

It absolutely maters how you heat the water. Also when you boil the water, let it sit for a few seconds. Never pour boiling water directly onto green tea as it actually burns it

I've never heard about boiling water in the microwave, hehe. But I guess, why not.

It is not healthy because it adds radiation and does not boil the water properly. A kettle is the best way!
