I agree, I don't think milk is bad for you either. Though the crap they put in our milk is without a doubt bad for you. Things like painkillers, growth hormones, estrogen and probably plenty of other fun things. Some of the stuff in there can cause cancer over time, so in the long run it isn't safe. So while it might make you strong and healthy now, it will kill you later on. Same as if i go smoke a cigarette right now because I'm in a bad mood. The cig will make me feel good now, but it won't help me later in life.

I make my own yogurt simply because I find fermented products to be superior to non-fermented, and yogurt tastes a hell of a lot better then plain whole milk. I use the Finnish viili culture which is so simple to make at room temperature.

I don't drink dairy milk, because I can't digest it and it's not too good for you. I've read cow's milk actually contains pus, since many livestock animals aren't kept under sanitary conditions. Cow's milk also contains antibiotics since livestock are put on them to prevent infections due to the overcrowded and filthy conditions they're kept under.
I prefer almond and rice millk. Soy milk can give you gas. Has anyone here used an at-home soy and rice milk maker? You can purchase them in Chinese grocery stores called Kam Man stores.

I heard that soy contains female hormones (estrogen?), is that true? Not too good for us men to drink then.

But my local store has chocolate soy milk, so good

Whenever I drink milk or cosume dairy based products my skin gets inflamed and a few days later I start getting severe and painful acne (mind you, I'm 34). No derm will acknowledge this as it goes against medical mainstream but I've been testing this over a period of several years and it's definately related to dairy and I'm not alone either there's plenty of people out there reporting the same thing unfortunately nobody will listen. If there's one thing I've learned over the last couple of years its this: just because somebody says something's scientifically proven it doesn't mean anything. Question everything.

I have always been a huge fan of dairy products even though they aren't "good for you". I actually also like soy and almond milk (even hemp milk is good!) Luckily there is a store close to my house that sells both cow and goat milk/cheese/yogurt from a local farm. I'm not sure if it is really better for you than regular supermarket milk but it does taste better. It's really expensive but it's worth it

I am 20 and have had acne since i was 11 or 12.
I heard the dairy products aggravate acne and I tried to quit for a while, even though it was very hard for me as I love dairy products.
The result was that my acne did not change at all so I started eating and drinking again dairy products.
The only thing I cut off was milk, but I still drink at least 1L of yogurt everyday and mix every meal with cheese.
When I was younger I also used to drink milk instead of water all day long.
You guys think that might have had any bad effect on me?

I'll have to try some almond milk. I've never had it before.
