    Natural Swimming Pools

Natural swimming pools are swimming pools that do not use any chemicals at all, instead relying on the usage of planted ponds which filter the water. The planted ponds can be adjacent to the swimming pool part, or in a separate pond. The results are really very beautiful. lovely clear pure water, so different from the artificial bright blue of harsh chlorinated pools. Unfortunately they seem to be little known in English speaking countries but are becoming very popular in Germany and other European countries. Even very large public swimming pools have been successfully built in this way.

There's some more information here: http://www.bionova.de

I just love the idea of a pool that naturally cleans itself, without needing to swim in what is basically bleach.

Nice! I'd like one of those myself. If only I had the space.

There's a video here from the opening of a large public natural swimming pool in Sweden. The video is depressing for obvious reasons, but at least it shows the potential size of natural swimming pools.

Wow, those are really cool. I wish I had one of those, I would be in it everyday

I wonder if swimming in chlorinated pools is as safe as people think.
