Yes, I enjoy bonfires very much! Bonfires are common where I live on the eve of Midsummer/St. John's Day, and there is something very primeval and inviting about them.

With bone fires we think now big fires like in Midsummer? Not a small camp fire? Anyway I like both ... plus I also love to cook on small camp fire as hiking/camping.

    Bone fires (Midsummer):

Unfortunately nowadays quite often we are not allowed to do that (Midsummer times). The weather has been too dry (not much of rains since winter) on May and on June vs. on July and on August. The risks of forest fires/wildfires are too big .... and officers denies that (Europeans remember difficult forest fires in Sweden last summer).

But people are inventive .... by then they'll make their Midsummer bonefires on the lakes.

While not exactly a "bonfire" in size, the chiminea fireplace we use on our patio produces a very warm and pleasing fire during our cooler weather social functions.

“A dying culture invariably exhibits personal rudeness. Bad manners. Lack of consideration for others in minor matters. A loss of politeness, of gentle manners, is more significant than is a riot.” Robert A. Heinlein

Bonfires are great, they are very popular here in midsummer. I like to arrange it with some friends in winter also. Hot dogs grilled on the fire are so good (And probably so unhealthy). Coffee made on fire tastes better than normal coffee.

    I hate bonfires

I can't handle the smoke and I'm sure that inhaling it can't be good for you.
