    Smile Do You Enjoy Bonfires?

I enjoy bonfires very much. My wife and I host parties in our backyard every summer. It's great. There's always a fire burning, and music playing.

Sometimes, when anticipating a bonfire, I collect random twigs and branches from my neighborhood.

YES! We have them too. Love them!!!! It brings out a connection to our lost ancestors who relied on the warmth of fire to survive

In Norway it is tradition to have big bonfires every year at solstice, we have maintained many traditions from the old days.

Usually, except when the Mexicans next door had a huge one (10 feet diameter) on Christmas Eve when it had not rained for months. Our yards are about 60 feet wide and the huge fire was 40 feet from my house.

I called 911 and the fire department came and made them put it out.

Yikes! I actually have a similar story to share. Last year my Puerto Rican neighbors, who live 3 houses down made a huge bonfire in their yard and started to add pieces of old furniture to feed the flame. For a moment the chemical odor from the burning wood finish, paint, and glue was excruciating, but thankfully the wind changed direction and the smoke was directed away from our house.

I could have called the police, but thought I'd let them poison themselves

    Do You Enjoy Bonfires?

I have always enjoyed bonfires and remember building quite large ones with my friends in the large wooded area behind our house in TX when I was little.

I attribute this keen interest to my deeply-rooted ancient Celtic-Germanic ancestry.

Quick grab that wood! It is time to make a human sacrifice!

It's pretty fun to make a big fire by the sea and add tons of dry seaweed on it. So much smoke!

Could've easily caused an explosion if some of their furniture was laced with explosive chemicals or paints.

To me there's no better way to enjoy a summer evening. Good friends, good music, adult beverages, green bud (if you're in to that) and a giant roaring fire out in the woods will take you back thousands of years. The most primal form of entertainment.
