The English language is something no one ever perfects. Spelling and Grammar are something that take years and years to master. Had the English language stayed phonetic like so many other languages out there it would be exponentially easier to learn and master.

Indeed! I've been speaking English for around 16-17 years now and I still make mistakes!

Hehe I don't really like to answer that kind of threads, as I don't like to sound arrogant or something. But hey there are already 3 pages so here I go !

People I speak with in Sweden often don't believe me when I say that I'm not Swedish, they think I'm making fun of them. Well I actually don't look like a Swede (Faelid), but it seems that Swedes like to think that all blonds are Swedish

I also like when people say that I've got balls, it makes me proud

My father once said that I look a lot like my grandfather (on a character point of view), it's a great honor for me !

And some girls that I know told me several times that I don't act like people of my age, although it's not true IMO, it's just that I try to act smartly when I'm with a girl

A couple of weeks ago, when I was sitting at a pub with some friends, a (near-)random (and very cute) girl out of nowhere sat herself on my lap and said she thought I was a "hunk".

And about a year ago, some guy I got into a conversation with (and a subsequent nachspiel) said he thought I was very eloquent and had a very good vocabulary. And since we were mostly discussing languages and speech (of which he was extremely well educated in), I take his compliment with great honour.

That both of this incidents occured under the influence of King alcohol, doesn't take anything away from then, IMO. :p

I'm also very honoured whenever someone says I resemble any of my grandparents.

I“m just "scolding" you in a jokingly way, of course: I can be glad that the native English speakers don“t scold me on a daily basis for my horrible English grammar and sentence construction. I“m very thankful for the shown tolerance and how I completely ignore the usage of ' for my “.
Thusnelda, have no fear. I hold those who speak more than one language in highest esteem, for here in America, very few people know more than one Germanic language fluently. We are not required to speak anything other than English. We do have foreign language requirements, but they are not rigorous enough to result in the fluent knowledge of any language.

Most people here choose Spanish for their foreign language requirements. I did not. I took Spanish briefly in junior high school....HATED it.....and promptly dumped it for German! I also took German in college...a full year of it. Sadly, here in the States, opportunities to speak German do not abound....and I have lost much of what I had learned.

Ich brauche ein Bier. I hope that did not come out all messed up sounding to your native ears

Not the same sound, but "Der, Die, Das" are the German equivalents to the English "The". These three options make it hard for foreign people to learn proper German because it“s very difficult to learn the correct usage of "Der", "Die" or "Das" in front of words.

Thank you, but I“m not really fluent in English. I have to use an online word dictionary while I write more complex posts because often I don“t know the English vocabulary.

That was a good choice for sure! Do you have some remaining skills in German language? Maybe of the extend that you can read and understand simple German texts?

The sentence is correct and fine. It means "I need a beer.".

Are you using an on line translator right now? No way!
Cause when English speaking people use an on-line translator to change there sentences in German; the on-line translator always stuff up, and native German speakers always pick up on the mistakes, and pinn point out the mistakes, lol.
I would had never had guessed you were using a English translator cause they are never 100% right, amd so far, you're postings are 100% right in my eyes.

Groomer gal,You should had kept up on you're german girl,it's a handy thing to have a second language! glad you choosed German over spanish
