I am also now more sure that this is what I had because slightly before the big attack, I was taken to the doctor to run some blood tests and the liver function tests came back abnormal, but they couldn't diagnose anything and my symptoms seemed more psychological than physical so it just got ignored. My mom couldn't remember what exactly the tests were, but she thinks it had something to do with having too high of levels of something in my blood that means it wasn't being synthesized enough in the liver. An enzyme deficiency would make total sense.

We now think the reason I wasn't eating had nothing to do with anything psychological but was from a buildup of toxins in my neurological symptom. If the heme doesn't properly dispose of porphyrins they can lie around in the neurological system and make you not hungry or sleepy when you need food and sleep.
