Lundman and Czekanowski used it and they meant Armenid-Mediterranid.

I have also observed the type, as north as Yorkshire and Southernmost Sweden.

"An anthropometrical investigation was made by Lundman (1952d) on Tjörn Island in Bohuslän. He believes that elements of an Armenid-Mediterranean mixed population (the so-called Litoral race of Czekanowski and Lundman) can be distinguished on this island."

A Contribution To The Physical Anthropology And Population Genetics Of Sweden, Population Genetics of Sweden, 10. Main region X. Southwest Sweden, The State Institute for Human Genetics, Uppsala, Sweden,1959.

I think of men who look like Swedish politician Lars-Erik Lövdén (who is born in Malmö, where the native population is significantly darker than the population north thereof in Southwestern Sweden):

It is also common in Scotland and I have seen an Orcadian with the phenotype.

I have posted a picture on the "Am I White?" forum of what I believe to be a good example of the type.

I have also seen Scots who look as such, but I am not always sure the origin is from that or a combination of other types that created a reasonably similar phenotype.

Can you please give me the link to the thread where you posted such a type?

Did they arrive with the Dinarids that immigrated to Scandinavia, or from an earlier migration?

Another race I can think of with a cleft chin (or at least a dimple in the middle of the chin) is the Dinaric; I remembered today that it seems to be common with them.

A quick question about cleft chins

In which European subraces are they common?

    What about Atlanto-Mediterranid and Atlantid?

Re: A quick question about cleft chins

I would suppose it has more to do with Cro-Magnoid elements within various phenotypes. I associate cleft chins with more robust types. Cleft chins are common in the Middle East and North Africa as well, usually in a more exaggerated form.
