Why so angry? Why would I be lying?

I've been here for 4 years, almost 5, and haven't really seen anything interesting, so what?

I live in N. Texas, close to Dallas. I lived in Dallas for a bit, too. Eh, nothing special.

There is also West, Central, South, as well as East Texas. There are beautiful cities and equally beautiful small towns to visit, forests to romp in, lakes to swim, the coast, plenty of historic architecture as well as history relevant to our country's past. You have been in in the Dallas area this whole time, right? If you had bothered to venture out you would have noticed that Texas is definitely not Dallas and not the endless suburbs up there I am sure you see regularly. I can point you in the direction of many large Germanic communities. Have you even tried to make contact with one?

AcherontiaStyx here is a partial list of towns in Texas founded by Germans:

As Ronan said, there are many interesting attractions in the Lone Star State.

Have you purchased a pair of Cowboy boots yet and gone horseback riding?

I haven't ventured much because, as I previously stated, I've been completely caught up in studying ever since I arrived here. I'm also not a very outgoing person at all, so I haven't looked for anyone, in any communities.

I like Austin...I love downtown Houston... does that count?

I am not a very...hm...nature-loving person, let's put it like that. I'd much rather go to Museums, the Opera, concerts, libraries, art galleries and whatnot. Outside of Dallas/Houston/Austin is kind of hard for me to find what I like..The Dallas Opera is great, the Austin Philharmonic Orchestra isn't bad either...but it's no MET. I also have a heart condition that doesn't allow me to go out and swim and be too active.

I do live in the suburbs and it's incredibly boring...I think I was just more used to the East Coast because that's where me and my parents spent vacation every year.

As a matter of fact, I haven't gotten Cowboy boots yet But I would certainly love to go horseback riding. My grandfather bred horses as a hobby (well, he took it pretty seriously but it wasn't his main occupation) and I had two horses of my own I didn't get to see them much, though. When I did I loved to take care of them and go through obstacle courses. I was very much into competitive Equestrianism and helped out with horse shows.

    I miss them

Well, if you are near the DFW area, you will find no shortage of places to got to ride horses. Weatherford about 50 miles west of Fort Worth has gained international acclaim in the equestrian world, specifically reining and cutting horses.

    Saddle up!
