In short, religion is the way for a certain set of people to connect with the divine. Religion is therefor bound to the folk, because it is needed by the folk to do this and if it is not folkbound, it's not suited to connect to the divine and thus useless. Ethnicities and races are different, so religions are as well.

But it's important to realize that the divine is universal. In pagan circles I often notice people claiming that the germanic gods are our gods and other ethnicities have their own gods. But how does this work? If you're truly religious and actually believe "your" gods to be real, doesn't this also count for gods of other ethnicities then according to this non-universalist perception? If our gods aren't universal, do they exist next to the gods of other ethnicities? So up there you can find Zeus, Odin, Jupiter, Wakan Tanka and Quetzalcoatl side by side? This is already ridiculous because f.e. the indo-european gods can be traced back to a single pantheon and are often the same gods. Furthermore they wouldn't be actual gods anymore either. Gods are above profane cultural and geographical distinctions. Would Odin and his brothers have created only the land where Germanics live? But a large part of this area was inhabited by Celts before, so how do we solve that problem? It just doesn't match with the myths who show us that everything was created (or rather ordered) by the gods (i.e. a single pantheon), even time (Voluspa 6), and thus making them universal.*

The only way of defending that the divine (and therefor the gods in the example of ancient paganism) is not universal, is by reducing it to nothing more than a psychological phenomenon; and that's just atheism and not the topic of this thread.

So in my opinion the divine must be universal and religion exists to connect (or reconnect after the original Latin word religare) with the divine. Because all people are different, religion must originate in our own Germanic soul to be suitable to reconnect us with our divine origins. So the pagan gods were (as I personally believe) a way to do this. They were manifestations of the divine as it was perceived by our ancestors at the time. The same goes for a great deal of Christianity. Whether it is Zeus, Wodan or St. Martin, all three of them largely represent the same aspect of the divine.

*In the ancient Roman world, and probably in the Germanic world as well, people already knew that the gods of different ethnicities were actually the same.

Christianity proposes universal salvation, true. However, we must not look to modern Christianity as our point of reference for Christianity in its entirety. Modern Christians have largely been influenced by the secular, egalitarian ideals of the Enlightenment and this is why a racial/cultural identity is not important to most of them. However, if one looks back beyond the time of the Enlightenment, one will see that the West was intensely racially and culturally aware, and also devoutly Christian.

Let us pretend that the entire world converted to Christianity. Is there anything explicit or implicit in this that states that the races and ethnic groups should mix? That there should be mass immigration or no borders? I think not. One's national, racial, and cultural preservation could very easily be upheld as there is nothing in the Christian doctrine which states that it should not. It was the ideals of the secular Enlightenment that lead to this global, multicultural cesspool, not Christianity.

Just take a look at the Greeks. They are some of the most devout Christians today, and they are also some of the most voracious in their opposition to immigration, multiculturalism, and passionate in the retention of their Greek identity.

Christian Zionists are a modern breed and in no way represent all Christians today, and especially do not represent the Christians of the past who are well known for their opposition to Jewry. Why do you think the Jewish cultural Marxist media goes out of their way to deface Christianity and promote our current atheistic and secular lifestyle?

Would you consider the medieval West to be weak and submissive? Indeed, the medieval West was devoutly Christian in a manner not seen anywhere in the West today, and they were the embodiment of might makes right, warriors in the true sense of the word. If we accept the fact that being Christian leads one to be weak and submissive, how can we account for the multiple centuries for which Christianity was the predominate religion and culture of the West and the West was anything but weak and submissive?

If this is the case, why do Christian families even today have the most number of children of the white race? During the Christian period, some families were having as many as 20 children. Whereas today in our secular, atheistic society the birth rate has plummeted below replacement level.

It is often Christians who are in opposition to abortion as well, which can be accounted for at least some of the white children who are not born into this world.

The role it plays is to keep people together that don't have anything else in common. For this reason it is a thret to Germanic preservationism.

What a baseless and grammatically incorrect observation Mr. Robertson.

[QUOTE=Forrest Kingsley;1076649]State what you consider to be the role of religion in today's world.QUOTE]

Well, a religious person will see their religion as the basis of their moral code, it defines what they do and how they act. It is central to their life and important above all else.

To an atheist it is nothing but a constant annoyance that causes them to question human intelligence.

Religion's role is and always will be dependent on individual perspective. There will NEVER EVER be any sort of agreement on its role in peoples lives... and frankly the constant arguments are tiresome. If your an atheist ignore it, if your religious then state your religion but otherwise don't force it on others, if asked about it in a genuinely curious manner then go ahead and give your opinion. But thats just my opinion

Religion as massorganisations are not 'religion' but programmes.

They are designed to destroy the connection a people has with it's ancestors, customs, way of life.

they put a new (world order) way into the head of people. Religions have leaders who enforce and control masses of populations for the means to gain world control of the whole planet.

The people are brainwashed into 'belief'. that should never be a valid point in one's decision making.

The beliefs are some soundbites which have been given false energy. They make people identified over non-sense (by design).

The soundbites sound very nice to emotionally immature people. If you watch what religion does that you know with whome you deal: destruction, brainwashing, war, concquer, dissolution of connection to people, customs and so on, destroy a healthy state of mind and common sense and make people do weird things, install in the heads of people the belief in false authorities and on and on and on.

there is nothing positive coming out of religion. Thats why I cast it out of my life.

Relgions have no connection to any real God, they use projections and sell that nonsense as God. Hence non of the followers has a connection/communication to that projection. It is administered by the helpers of the leadership and the leadership itself. That projection has no power by itself. it is only powerful through the brainwashing.

the real Gods are approachable, you do not need religion for it, it is in fact hindering and fogs your brain.

Whatever and whoever has a real connection to the Gods has to be destroyed by 'religion' because it is very powerful threat to their powerweilding.
