An approach to 12L at KCPS in a heavy crosswind. As I pulled power back for the touchdown a gust of wind started pushing the aircraft to the left off of the centerline. The aircraft was at about 55 kts and slowing just above the runway, but by now one landing gear was about to be over the grass while the other was over pavement.

I applied almost full power and right rudder and aileron to push the aircraft against this gust and level the aircraft and then proceeded to take off again for a go-around.

This happened in about 15 seconds. Seemed like half an hour. That was as close as I ever came to bending an aircraft. That's going to stay with me for a long, long time.

Being forced to take a life in a proven case of self-defense... It happened in a heartbeat. But the horrifying incident is indelibly imprinted in my mind.

All I'm willing to disclose further about this highly disturbing matter is that I hope I never encounter such a dehumanizing situation ever again.
