The Prime Minister will vow to tackle "absurd barriers to mixed-race adoption", when he sets out proposals to speed up adoptions in England later. David Cameron will say "young lives are being wasted while the process takes its toll".

Local authorities will be told not to delay adoptions "in a search for the perfect match".

The announcements come ahead of the launch of the government's "Adoption Action Plan" next week.
