A few of the pictures thumbnailed:
They look ... ta-ta-ta-tam: like they are from Caucasus!!!![]()
Armenian anthropologist Sergei Arutiumov described Circassians as predominantly Near Eastern.
The 1st one got some Central Asiatic Kumid traits.
The second from left have the very low and broad forehead so common among Assyroids. This rather unusual form of forehead is also seen among many Kurds from Eastern Turkey.
The rest are more or less Armenoid with perhaps some minor Pontid traits. From what I've read they are not so different from Armenians. The third one got some blondism and remind me of Coon's Borreby-like type in the Balkans.
There are definitely lighter and more Nordoid people in the NW Caucasus.
Quite strange. I do not know if these are good representatives. Maybe rusalka would know more.
Can there be completely swedish looking people in the north west caucasus?Originally Posted by Glenlivet
I don't know. Maybe if they are Russian minority, and some Russians approximate (Ilmen-Dniepr?) the Trönder which is made up of a stronger Battle-Axe (invaders from southeast, long-headed and high-skulled) component, the Hälsingland/West-Baltid type.
Coon placed some Nordid (N) there.

Yes, but can the ethnic circassians (not the russians) look completely nordic? I have read that they are predominantly near eastern and pontid mediterranean in looks. Thats not even close to nordic, right? I have seen lots of their pics too and they look basically eastern even though they are pretty fair.Originally Posted by Glenlivet
