Younger men like older women because they're more experienced. As far as I know. Cougars go to clubs to find younger men. It's a common phenomenon here.

If I could sit around, look pretty, occupy myself with idleness and luxury and then have a good-looking, intelligent, older woman drag me back to her nest... I'd do that.
Of course because that's all a girl has to do to get a guy.

The feminine realm is of fluffy pillows and opium smoke, the masculine realm is either an intellectualized desert where men are relegated like unto tortured Catholic monastics, or a jungle.
If you truly think that's how the "feminine realm" is, you should try to rethink it. I think it is just as difficult for females to find a good mate.

I don't think its possible to analyze just one aspect of relationships at a time in an effective manner, because there is a myriad of significant factors and some are more important for some than for others. Different individuals relationship needs aren't so easily comparable. There are people who marry their high school sweetheart and live happily after, and there are people who get into the porn industry and live happily ever after.

Also I think there are plenty of people who are incapable of having healthy relationships at all, because of previous trauma which causes them to be attracted to bad mates.

As for myself, I tend to date women a year or two older than I am, which makes sense as I have always enjoyed the company of people slightly older than me the most.

I've always had a preference for women a few years older than myself. I'm not sure why this is...but it is.

I've also dated a woman nine years my junior...and we found that there were quite a few compatibility issues.

My rule of thumb is--if I can biologically be the woman's father then she is off limits. The other way around? I might consider it....

I'm looking for a younger woman, no doubt. There is little to no attraction between me and women my own age.

    Same here.

Generally i'd say a gap of 10-12 years between man and woman is the maximum acceptable.......

You'd date a woman who could be your biological father? How progressive of you! :p

I say any age difference is fine as long as it's not paedophilia and they are consenting.

I would say that any physical age gap is ok but the mental one must be minimal.
Also both parties must be at the same point in their lives it is no good if one wants to travel the world, while th other has done this and wants a family. From personal experiance I much prefer older men, preferably 5-8 years difference, the only relationship I have had with a younger one...well I always said I wouldn't repeat it.
I think that the acceptability difference between the woman being older and the man being older stems back to when the man would be expected to support her and the children and therefore needed to be already established, While she needed to be young and fertile. However as now many womwn are getting their own carrer going then older wives will probably become more common.
Also in young relationships there is the issue that girls mature faster than boys so to get the same level of maturity there normally needs to be an age gap.
Anyway the older both parties are the less important it is and I would wish any relationship well as they all must be judged individually.
