Question Most Ethnic Germans in Germany Liberals?

After WW2, most Germans that believed in the Reich and fought for it, left the country and took asylum in many different areas. With that in mind, would the rest of the ethnic german population be the liberals who worked with the Americans and be the less hard-lined, softer ones?

It just seems to me, that this is the case... Liberalism is the death of the Germanic people/cultures. With all the crap going on in Germany and nothing is being done about it. Should we see those people as being traitors/enemies also?

I would say that most people are "Liberals" especially the ones that cannot think for themselves. But post WW2 it was enforced Liberalism, due to the Far Left of the USSR and then Moderate Left in the USSA.

“Liberalism” is like any lie, it is sugar and spice and everything nice, but once you find out the truth it is pretty dirty. The majority of people like comforting lies as opposed to hard truth. This is true of Germans as well as everyone else.

I once got to know a German temporary resident residing in our English speaking country for a few months as part of his English language studies. He was self-professed "almost too far to the left." I was going through a stage of my life when I had had enough of the anti-white doctrine of the university environment and was backlashing out ideologically. We were at a party standing in a circle drinking beer, composed of a couple white Americans plus this one German. My Vietnamese friend walked up (don't tell me something like I should only have white friends. That wouldn't be practical at all at this university.) and I said, jokingly, "Go away, this is a white people conversation." My friend didn't really care and casually walked away, but this made the German super-uncomfortable and lower his head down like Germans tend to do to break eye contact. I was sincerely interested in getting to know him since there were next to no German exchange students in that university, or Germans in the area for that matter, but I somehow came off as a Nazi to him (he actually asked me this, "Are you?"). In the conversation it came up that my great-grandfather was German, in an attempt to establish some kind of sense of kinship with him. But he shrugged it off, "Yeah, most Americans have some German in them. You are American." At this point I was lost to him. Yes, I know that I'm American and not a German German, but that was not the point. He considered me no more like him than anyone else at that party, be they Germanic, white, east Asian or Indian. To him, I was American and at the same time everyone else in the room was American. Yet somehow I was more American (By classifying me strictly as American, "You are American.") than them, but he didn't want to say how or why.

Don't worry, that's part of life. We had a good lot of German speakers - whether from Austria or Germany - as Erasmus students when I was still at university in Aberdeen, Scotland. Whilst I must say a good few were good sports and a great time to be had with, well over 90% of them were very much like the one you described.

It was also when I made the experience that you made with the Vietnamese friend of yours, who wasn't bothered (and probably shares much of the sentiment himself, being from a traditional-minded country). The Indians and one Black man accepted my views as they are, but the pretty, local girl at halls came up to me flanked with two foreigners of Pakistani descent and demanded of my that I should enlighten her about the truth behind the rumour I was a 'Neo-Nazi'.

I then took much offense at the term 'Nazi' - it being a term invented by the enemies of our cause - and enlightened her I was a 'Nationalist'. Scotland being essentially the only Germanic country where you can get away with that sentence without second-guessing, as the term 'Nationalist' is quite a broad semantic field there.

Much better I would say. Whilst it is safe to say that your average student here is by and at large more "left-wing" than in the UK, it is also safe to say that they aren't as dumbed-down. I've had many good conversations with them, the intellectual exchange and an ability to 'agree to disagree' was more important; in the UK many a time a fellow student from the other side of the ideological spectrum would resort to polemics instead of arguments.

That is sad and shameful to hear. And actually doubly shocking --- the BRD seems to have officially forgetten the Silesian minority except when it comes to breeding the un-natural mindset upon which the BRD is founded into them, it seems.

Yes, most germans are liberals these days. But I don't think it is because those that fought for the Reich left the country afterwards or committed suicide - that many didn't leave, they just had to shut up after the war. It's because of 60 years of profound brainwashing and reeducation. The younger and even the middle aged generations know nothing else. Even the leftists from the student protests in '68 are now in their sixties. The people who have actually witnessed the time are quite old now and are getting fewer and fewer.

The indoctrination in schools and the media is quite pervasive and starts early on in the life of every german. There's also a strong peer pressure and people who don't conform are socially 'segregated'/ostracized. Of course this is true to some degree for most western nations these days, but I think this guilt-based reeducation about ww2 and the holocaust and that it's basically expected that we reject the recent past of our country and feel guilty about it, makes it even worse in Germany. Sometimes it feels like there is no single day without news articles referencing ww2, or hollywood movies about that time on TV - as if it was a recent event and not something that happened almost seven decades ago.

In school and university I've never met a single german who had similar views like I do. Without the Internet I could get the impression that I'm the only one. At least thanks to websites like this one I know that there are a few select others who share my views. Maybe this will reduce the peer pressure in the future for some when they realize that they're not alone.

This is true. My grandparents saw for me to be raised with a Nationalist mindset and already paved the way for me very neatly, however even with this 'head start' it was at times a little difficult to take a stand, as it'd oft come at the price of being excluded from a certain social circle.

Not like I'd care so much, knowing that I have my bunch of friends and comrades who accept me as I am and as I think it was relatively easy to come by in most situations, however the situations at Halls were a little difficult, full of people who were brainwashed with the rest too scared to say anything against it; it took a while to simply get on with it.

The forum world has helped a lot in getting towards a more 'Take it or leave it' mindset, where I will miss no opportunity to make my views on something known, and if people fuss with it, it's not my problem.

    German Liberals

In order to understand the modern German mindset one needs to go back and study the modern political-economic history of modern Germany. This starts prior to the Revolution 1848, its subsequent suppression by the Prussian Regime via Bismark's Unification of Germany under the Kaiser (this is when my Germanic forbears left for the States) its involvement in WWI and subsequent military loss, coupled with the outrageous Reparations and the elimination of the Prussian Regime demanded by the French and British in the Versailles Treaty. These Reparations crippled the National Economy, drove the Weimar Republic (following the collapse of the Prussian Regime) into complete collapse both Politically and Economically. The hollow shell that was the Weimar Republic was captured via the ballot box by the National Socialist German Workers Party who cancelled the Reparation payments, began a massive Economic campaign to put people back to work, control the massive inflation that was occuring and rebuild the German Military.

Then came the campaign to create a European Prosperity Sphere under the control of the "Third Reich" and the Nazi Party. And as they say, "the rest is history". After its subsequent annhilation in WWII, The German State was reestablished by the victorious Allies into two separate Nations along ideological lines. Either a Democratic Republic or Communist State. With the collapse of the Communist Regime in Moscow, the East German Communist State was absorbed into the West Democratic Republic; creating the Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Which is what we have today (for better or worse).

As for the current German political mindset, after all this Nation building starting in 1848, all we want is "Peace, Prosperity and a voice in the governing of the Bundesrepublik". Three of the major goals of the 1848 Revolution. It may have taken awhile, with many deadends and many dead, but the Glorious Revoultion of 48 has finally prevailed...

The situation on Silesia is double-edged. The majority of Germans here are a rural population living in small towns and villages. Folks here are generally conservative and religious (sometimes almost like generation of 1914). General feelings are hostile to polish state and very pro-Deutschland (just read comments on local internet forums - some resemble what we read on Skadi ). But the cadres of ethnic activists (in theory responsible for upholding germandom) supported by BRD are focusing upon implementing the same mindset the Germans from BRD have!

It will take some time, but the attitude of german minority here, will start to change for worse. Currently the engineered decadence is slowed down by the polish nationalism over-represented in the entire region - which starts german nationalism in response.

    Anvil and hammer...
