I definitely recommend you find out the meaning of words before you use them.

Anyway, I already explained that the second type always -- as an absolute rule -- romanticises the foreign woman. These romanticised groups are always Eastern Europeans and Asiatics. It's seldom that attraction to one exists independently of an attraction to the other. This is mere observation. I've seen it hundreds and hundreds of times.

Now, given you already alluded to your attraction to the 11 year old Japanese girl in the article I cited, I don't really think we even need to insult each other's intelligence by 'playing dumb'. I know you like Asian women; it's obvious to me. And the only reason you'll deny it in your next post is to prove a point.

One thing I notice about the Japanese women, even middle aged, they dress like schoolgirls, short skirts with long socks up to thier knees, sometimes cute little sailor suits, I did read an article somewhere about this, and it did say it was a result of thier culture, that they like thier women to look like children.

They have a whole group of fashions they call "Lolita".

This is true and there is actually a book that you may be familiar with called Lolita, by Vladimir Nabokov. It was later made into a movie. It is about a middle aged man who becomes sexually involved with a 12 year old girl.

Sure the British age of consent laws were quite low for a good 700 years, but that does not mean that large numbers of Brits took advengate of this fact to fulfil their sick twisted pedophilic fantasies - because they didn't have any. As far as I know it's completely legal to have sex with a cactus, and do you see anybody doing it?

The Brits didn't take advantage of these laws en masse, whereas the Japs are, en masse, because it's part of their culture. Worship of the young is very common in Japan, and pedophilia is not the only evil that has come out of it, older individulas are also commiting suicide in large numbers because they don't want to be old.

Just from a minor legal knowledge abroad, I know that pornography that shows the genitals is illegal in Japan, might want to point that out.

Aaaaaaaanyway, the entire meaning of this thread was to discuss the void in Western culture, not sexual tendencies of the Japanese. Have I ever mentioned you guys have a knack for thread-jacking?

Actually, most prefectures have local codes making it 18.

The question presupposes that Japanese culture is superior to Western culture, a point with which some members disagree. It also implies the reason for obsessions with Japan lies in the faults of Western society, and not in the faults of the individuals who worship Japan.

It's pretty obvious that Western and Japanese pop cultures are equally insipid. There's no intellectual depth to either. Western pop culture is all autotuned singing, fake breasts, celebrity inside gossip on who Jolie's dentist is, canned laughter etc. Whereas Japanese pop culture is all childish cartoons, flashy neon colours, videogame arcades, celebrity gossip on who Hideo Kojima's dentist is, Mr Sparkle, stupid game shows etc.

I don't see how one is clearly better than the other at all.

Jap popular culture may not be perfect and there's a lot of junk as well but compared to contemporary Western pop culture theirs may have slightly more "value" imo.

~ Japanime is vastly superior in intellectual and artistic qualities to pretty much ANYTHING done in the West. Yes I know that much of it is trashy junk but there are some real gems too. I'd be happy to be proven wrong that "Westerners" produce anything comparable by any of you. Good luck.

~ Music.. at least their stuff still sounds vaguely Japanese (apart from the obvious lyrics). What does ours sound like? Oh yeah that's right... all the same old same old as European & Immigrant morons copy American morons.

~ Films..... general quality has declined in the West whilst quantity has risen. Japanese films can be hit-and-miss as well.

    ~ Contemporary Literature.... no idea.

~ Contemporary Art.... don't really know but I can't help but wonder whether "arteests" like Damien Hirst and Tracy Emin (both are trash purveyors) would be as revered in Japan as they are here.

~ Social values..... are there any left in the West or have we already succumbed to the inevitable joys of "tolerance", "diversity", "political correctness" and National Suicide????

At least Japan is still a nation. What are we but a "strength through diversity" multi-culti dystopia?

It's sad to see that this and a few threads with a similar theme have turned into 'us vs. them', where our people are zealously defending a society and "modern culture" which in every other post they say is decadent and horrible and so on.

Threads like these are to show us how bad our society has become, by comparing it to another 'modern' society which is not as bad.

They are not to say we must adopt all these foreign ideas to replace our own, because only this 'superior foreign culture' can save us. They are to show us that we have lost the top slot, and that we must fix what we are doing now because it's obviously not working too well.

It's not a blueprint for change, it's not admiration for the non-Germanic, it's not a call to adopt foreign ideas. It's something external to use to gauge our relative position today.

Historically, we have always been superior to the Japanese and other non-Germanics. But right now we are far from being anything to be proud of; surely we can reclaim our title as the most advanced people on Earth. Trying to make the Japanese society look worse than our own is not going to fix ours.

    Tokyo doesn’t

Scientifically (Darwin, Newton, Mendel etc) artistically (Dürer, Bosch, Vermeer etc) and philosophically (Nietsche, Hegel & Kant etc) the West has it over them

However I agree we have become very decadent

Aspects of Japanese culture are everywhere. This is the problem. The Samurai warriors, Ninjas, Japanese martial arts, etc... are all things our children are taught are "cool" while traditional Western analogues of these things are suppressed. I haven't seen many kid's shows about Vikings. There are so many things in traditional Germanic culture that are just as interesting, if not more interesting than the Samurai warriors, Ninjas, or Karate.
