    Transsexuality/Transgenderism

A German boy, now 14, is believed to be the youngest patient in the world pursuing gender reassignment after convincing doctors two years ago he wanted to live as a female.

Doctors say the boy, born "Tim," has considered himself female since he was two.

According to his parents, Tim tried on his older sisters clothes and played with her Barbie dolls, announcing, "I'm a girl." The boy was distraught after every haircut, they said, and at four, he took a pair of scissors and threatened to "cut off my thing!" After that incident, Tim was called "Kim" by his family.

"We always saw Kim as a girl, but not as a problem," the father, who was not identified, told Der Spiegel. "In fact, our life was surprisingly normal."

Puberty brought about a drop in Kim's voice and concern for the child's future.

"At that stage we realized that she was terrified of growing facial hair and her voice breaking," said the father.

The family sought medical advice about a possible sex change for Kim, with mixed results.

"Hormone treatment! Gender adjustment! How could you possibly do this to the child?" the family's pediatrician asked the father. Some psychiatrists suggested Kim be placed under observation in a psychiatric hospital.

Eventually, the family contacted Dr. Bernd Meyenburg, the head of a clinic for children and adolescents with sexual identity problems at Frankfurt University. He concluded that Kim represented the "rare ... clear-cut case" for intervention before puberty initiated irreversible changes to his body.

"It would have been a crime to let her grow up as a man," Meyenburg said.

According to Dr. Achim Wuesthof, the endocrinologist who is treating the teen, the procedure to arrest the course of male puberty has been successful thus far. Even though children under 16 are not permitted to undergo sex change in other countries, he and his colleagues thought it best to start early in Kim's case.

"To the best of my knowledge, Kim is the youngest sex change patient in the world," Wuesthof told the London Sunday Telegram. "According to German law, two independent psychiatrists must confirm that the child is indeed transsexual and approve the sex change. Once that has been done, it is best to start as early as possible."

For legal reasons, surgery to remove Kim's male genitals cannot be performed until age 18.

"From a purely medical standpoint we are dealing with the mutilation of a biologically healthy body," said Meyenburg. "We face a real dilemma. If we do something about it, it's irreversible. And if we allow nature to take its course, that too is irreversible."

Meyenburg said he had mixed feelings about the fact that more and more – and younger – patients are seeking him out for advice.

    Transsexuality/Transgenderism

Transgender people face fear and hate across Europe

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - Attitudes towards gays and lesbians in much of Europe and around the world may have made remarkable advances over the last 20 years, even if some regions of the EU are more hospitable than others. But for transgender people, discrimination, marginalisation and outright hostility remain part of daily experience.

Transsexual people are often fired from their jobs when undergoing gender reassignment procedures. They are turfed out of their apartments, refused insurance and confronted with bigotry within the health community. Gender non-conformity is still used as an excuse for harassment, violence and even murder

A report on homophobia and sexual orientation discrimination in the 27-country bloc by the EU Fundamental Rights Agency published in June 2008 identified serious gaps in national legislation in regards to transgender people's rights

On Thursday (20 November), transgender people around the world observed the annual Transgender Day of Remembrance, held to remember the murder of Rita Hester, a transgender woman from Boston, and all other transgender people who have been killed because they do not fit into the traditional mould. Ms Hester's murder - like most anti-transgender murder cases - has yet to be solved.

The Council of Europe, the Strasbourg-based European integration organisation - not to be confused with the Council of the European Union - has recently taken up the cause of promoting transgender rights across Europe.....

I thank my lucky stars that these kinds of "people" aren't allowed in the Army. I'm very pleased to be a part of the last bastion of traditional American discrimination.

There is a great book written by a Proffessor by the name of janice raymond called

"The transexual Empire" It really sheds light on this subject. The transgender lobby was spearheded by a certain "Riki Wilchins" who has thankfully died.
Wilchins headed a an organization that promoted "rights" for these transmogrified creatures.

A Germanic Government must make these sick "Sex reasigment" procedures illegal.

I'm usually more open to gay people than most are here, but I draw the line at transgender stuff as it simply isn't natural. It's costly, and to me is almost as crazy as Michael Jackson's plastic change. I simply don't see the point, if they really feel like they are supposed to be a different gender they should seek psychiatric help, as it's way easier, logical, and cheaper.

There was this Roman emperor Elagabalus who offered half the wealth of the Empire to whoever could make him a woman. This guy also happened to be a total nut case. He liked to be called the wife of his chariot driver, and while many Romans would probably be more or less classified today as bisexuals, they where not into 'drag queen' stuff, as Elagabalus was. He also tried to pervert the traditional Roman religion beyond simply adding in the sun god (sol invictus/Elagabal), but also wanted to marry Athena to him. He also tried to assassinate another high ranking official, and ended up being assassinated himself and not deified.

Transexual Sues Health Insurer for Refusing to Cover Breast Implant Surgery

A British transexual living in Germany is taking her health insurer to court after the company refused to pay for breast implants. She argues that the operation should be covered as part of gender reassignment procedures.

Sarah Jane Smith, 51, lives in the body of a man, but for years she has self-identified as a woman. As a school boy, Smith stole his teacher's underwear, as a British soldier working in Northern Ireland he wore lingerie underneath his uniform. As a married man he donned make-up and high heels whenever he was at home alone.

Smith was married twice and has two daughters. But in 2003 his secret was uncovered when his German wife stumbled upon photos of him taken at a party. She gave him an ultimatum: Either he stop dressing as a woman or she would divorce him. "I just couldn't stop so I didn't have a choice," Smith told SPIEGEL ONLINE. "It's a part of me."

In October 2006, Smith started her new life as a woman and chucked out all her mens' clothes. "I didn't even have any more mens' socks," she said, adding "I never regretted my decision."

Smith went to cosmetic surgeons, took hormones, visited a psychologist and started the process of getting a sex change. In May 2008, she officially changed her gender on her British documents. These days her former wife has become one of her best friends.

But she is still suffering. Her breasts started developing when she began the hormone treatment, but they started growing in the wrong place. "They are not on the front of the chest, but rather far too far on the side," said Smith.

Smith also feels restricted in her everyday life. "I can't take my grandchild to the swimming pool because the workers there don't know which dressing room they should send me to," she said. Breasts would make it easier to identify her as a female. She also doesn't understand why the state health care fund will cover a sex change operation -- the part that only a few get to see -- while rejecting breast implantations.

    A Case for the Court

According to Smith, several doctors have agreed that it is necessary to carry out the operation, for both medical and psychological reasons. But when she requested that the German Employees Health Insurance Fund (DAK) cover the €6,000 in costs, the company refused. Now, Smith is challenging that decision in court.

The health insurance company says that Smith's operation would be cosmetic surgery that insurers are not required to cover. "What is clear is that the same rules apply for transsexuals as genetic women," DAK spokesman Jörg Bodanowitz told SPIEGEL ONLINE. State insurers pay for cosmetic surgery only in exceptional situations, such as breast cancer or if a breast has been lost in an accident.

In 2004, Germany's Federal Social Court ruled that public health insurers generally do not have to pay for breast augmentation or reduction operations. The court argued that even if a patient is suffering psychologically because of breast-related issues, the funds still don't have to cover the operation. They are only required to cover the procedure in certain cases where a physical anomoly is disfiguring.

At the start of the trial on Wednesday, DAK representatives made a concession to Smith, saying they would appoint an evaluator to determine whether an operation would correct a physical disfiguration. Smith is to be examined over the next few days to check how necessary such an operation is, DAK representative Wolfgang Ahrens said after the hearing.

Smith's lawyer, Mark Hartmann, is hoping for good news. "There's a real chance," he said.

As if it weren't enough it's a degenerate, it wants the state to fund his degeneration too.
Yes I call such people "it", because they're neither a he or a she in my eyes.
