    Black Metal Beer

Black Metal is Jester King’s winter seasonal release. Weighing in at about 10% ABV, it’s filled with huge flavors of roast, chocolate, burnt malt and alcohol and carries a hint of leather. We encourage Black Metal to be enjoyed from a snifter at a serving temperature between 57 and 61 degrees Fahrenheit.

Black Metal will initially be draught only with bottle conditioned 750mL, champagne-style bottles to be released later this winter.

I hope I can get my hands on some.

Hehe, saw it on the same site I read about the new Burzum album. Satyr Wongraven has released black metal wine, so why not black metal beer too

Judging from the ingredients and preparation, to us Austro-Bavarians, this is not beer, as it doesn't conform to the Beer Purity Law of 1516. Nuff said, I'll be enjoying my Black Metal to more conventional barley juice, notably also wheat-beer which I have a particular weakness for.
-In kalte Schatten versunken...

This reminds of other "beers" I call them fad beers. I remember even back in the 1970's there was something called Billy Beer that was created by then president Jimmy Carter's brother Billy.

Usually these "beers" like this don't taste very good.

What I think is real funny is how it is suggested it be served in a snifter glass. I don't know that much about black metal, but I just can't picture a black metal person drinking this alleged beer out of a snifter.
Life is like a fire hydrant- sometimes you help people put out their fires, but most of the time you just get peed on by every dog in the neighborhood.

Well the fact that is wasnt brewed in Germany is testament to its not conforming to the Reinheitsgebot, and it is the same reason why you wouldnt see something like this coming out of Germany; I dont see playing Black Metal to fermenting beer as very "pure". If you Austro-Bavarians only drank beer that conformed to the Reinheitsgebot of 1516, you would be limited to beers that cost one or two pfennigs for a mass.

I cant see wheat beer going with black metal, its too light and the flavours too subtle, its more of a folk metal beverage.

Now I understand an old Simpsons joke, where homer finds a can of Billy Beer in an ancient jacket pocket, drinks it and says, "We elected the wrong Carter".

Wrong time of year to post this but, on a scorching hot day, put a bottle of Wheat beer in the freezer until it starts to turn to slush, then drink, delicious and cooling!
