    You know just the other day I had a similar idea of showing pictures of classical vintage yesteryear America.

    I see somebody beat me in making a thread devoted to it.

    [The 1950's was about the same time my grandparents were growing up after both of their families immigrated to the United States from Europe.]

    Here's a couple of pictures:
