A country where purity and the original norse language still spoken if I'm correct still exists. It reminds me of a little nordic villiage I've thought of in my childhood. Winter sports, sleighing down a hill, ice skating, and skiing. You people got it made up there. Don't spoil it, please don't.

    Misconceptions encountered so far:
Icelanders mainly spending their time at the Blue Lagoon, which your average Icelander visits perhaps once or twice in a lifetime, it is, after all, a tourist spot..

Icelanders being very sporty and doing a whole lot of skying and iceskating. There is a tiny minority, and the latter is only popular among children.

Icelandic women hardly ever leaving the house. Most Icelanders live in the capital, which, compared to size, has an endless number of clubs, concerts, theaters. And those are usually all crowded...

And, on another thread, Iceland being the worlds "whitest nation", which is nonsense, the numbers show today we have the same amount of immigration as the average immigration of the other Nordic countries, however we have far more Polish people here percentagevice, as well as Orientals (non-muslims from Asia), although lately I have been noticing more and more black people, they have been around for a long time, but all of a sudden they seem to be everywhere for whatever the reason. Racism hardly exists here, and the one "demonstration" was probably a reaction to exaggerations participated in by a ignorant fools to feel "cool" and "cosmopolitan". I know lots of foreign people from all over who live in Iceland, and none of them ever encountered any racism. Religious extremism of any kind is very unpopular here though, as is politcal extremism, and is a kind of antithesis to this culture. Fortunatetly, we do not get a lot of extremists here, and hopefully never.

I love Iceland, I want to move there. I have a few on line Friends there, and watch videos on you tube all the time from Iceland, I am even trying to learn the language.

I don't really know anything much about Iceland, but, visually, it looks to be a naturally beautiful country. I would like to visit

    Island..

    ISLAND......

For many White European Nationalists Island (Iceland) represents a possible safe homeland for the future of our race as Alaska does also for many White Nationalist North Americans.. As Tasmania does for White Nationalist Australians....

Anyone perhaps catch the drift !! It would appear the *Colder the Better*..

Ok!! Lappland has gotta be included

It may seem silly writing this but one does wonder where can it be possibly safest from this multi-kult terror being forced upon our nations..

    Iceland

Ah yes Iceland, land of Universal Healthcare, Universal Tertiary Education, out of the main stream of insane international politics. And I especially like the geothermal to electricity conversion plants. Although, it can be a little chilly, 26 deg.F low to about 60 deg.F high, most of the year - though the sea food makes up for that...

    Ultima Thule

My only actual experience in Iceland was in 1976 when we landed in Reykjavik in an Icelandic Air stretch 707 in a raging blizzard with 40 MPH cross winds. I had my wife on one side and an old lady on the other, both digging their nails into my arms and screaming at the top of their lungs, along with the rest of the passengers of course. You could actually see the fuselage flexing as we skidded down the runway. When we finally slid to a stop the two ladies exclaimed rather
heatedly,"Oh my God, what a terrible landing! We were almost killed!"
I busted out laughing and replied," Are you kidding me? That was the best
G** Damn landing I have ever seen!!!"

But what I really remember were the most beautiful women in the entire
world! Even my wife had to admit that she had never seen more beautiful
women, which from my wife, was quite a compliment!
I have been traveling the world for some 50 odd years and have seen a few women as beautiful as the women in Iceland, but none more beautiful.

But, alas, as my father used to say,"Just because you have already eaten,
doesn't mean you can't look at the menu. It is when you re-order that you get into trouble!"

One more misconception I forgot to address. Rotten shark is hardly consumed at all here. Most people who do eat it do so only once a year, during "Þorrablót" meaning "blot", a pagan kind of ceremony, all but the pagans skip the ceremonial part today, so it has become just a social event, during the month of Þorri, pronounced Thorri, one of the old pagan months, so this is a very ancient traditions. People get together during this month and eat the food that helped their ancestors stay alive in a harsh climate, no green houses, and zero import from overseas, often combined with great poverty, in ancient times, no matter how disgusting some of it might seem today, when we have tastier alternatives. I personally like the idea but usually cannot bring myself to eat most of the food, although some of the dishes taste good. Rotten shark and sheep testicles are among the strangest and worst-tasting things on offer. I would say the vast majority of people here only eats most of these things once or twice in a lifetime. The vast majority at any given time eating such things are tourists for overseas actually I think this food is served all year round now, specifically with foreigners in mind, for Icelanders, however it is a once a year time kind of thing in theory, and for the more outlandish dishes even to us, twice per lifetime in practice.

You are right! Only misconception I have to correct regarding Icelandic women is all of us being particularly blond. Here is a typical Icelandic woman. Her real haircolour is a bit darker, most people here have very light brown hair, same colour as her real hair. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwIFTEHF7Tg
