Ugly Betty...

Ugly Betty is one of those American television programs that nobody cares to watch so they put it on TV Guide Channel so that a person will be forced to watch it while viewing the bottom scroll to see what is on TV at the moment. It is heavily slanted toward Hispanic and Gay culture with generous put-downs of anyone who is not. Last night was a particular episode about someone (black woman) kidnapping a baby to gain control of a fashion business. Without the boring details, the baby is returned and the end scene shows a flaming asian guy recapping the events. He says the real parents have been found- a lower class Scottish couple (unflattering picture shown). The flame goes on to explain, had the child stayed with the kidnapper, the child would have had a marvelous life, but genetic studies show that it is good the child was returned to the real parents because he would look like this (despicable picture of sloven, overweight, cretin looking young person.)

That the Scottish race was chose for this skit was not an accident. When they put these shows together, everything is on purpose. The shows general theme promotes feminism, la raca, and homosexuality. Everything else is a joke in their world.

While I am at it, what about the commercials being shown. The stupid Nordic husband cannot figure out why the room smells so good. The smart wife does because she knows just what air freshener to plug in (they are electric now. Yipppeee!)

Or how about the stupid Nordic husband just cannot figure out where the smart wife hides all those tasty treats she talks to her friend on the phone about. Why silly Nordic husband...it's the yogurt in the frig. That is how your very smart wife is losing all that weight (not!).

I could go on but you get the idea. I find this type of sometimes not so subtle undermining of the Nordic race reprehensible. What do you think?

Ugh, more of the all-too-familiar message telling us to be ashamed of being white, making ourselves the butt of every joke. I try to avoid those things whenever I can, I feel like they pollute my brain. But sometimes it seems like they're everywhere you look.

I think you're reading way too much into it. It's not done to consciously undermine the Nordic race, it's done for ratings and to sell products. Money is the only value that the media moguls hold dear. They aren't even aware or concerned enough to market any kind of complete ideology, be it left or right (Unless you consider a sloppy mish-mash of postmodern narcissistic hedonism a fully formed ideology?).

Ugly Betty was trying to appeal to younger people by being snarky and "controversial" -- simply because those things sell. The commercials you mentioned are marketing garbage to middle class women and trying to win them over by resorting to the cliche of the clueless husband. It's sexist towards men in general, not Nordids in particular.

Of course you are preaching to choir, as we all are most of the time here in these threads.

That is what makes this place so nice that we can discuss things we have similar interest in.

Yes, I do think the intention of some of these shows is to make us look bad, even worse are the commercials. My opinion of the commercials is that if what they are trying to sell is so good why do they have to put hidden meanings in them. Really can't their product stand on its own.

If nobody here "preached to the choir", there would be no posts at all, so go ahead and post, there will allways be a small part of your message that will bring something new to someone, even if we are all aware of the bigger picture.

Its like on conspiracy forums, where everybodies on them because they know its a conspiracy, but they are still usefull reminding each other such.

Theres even a Bible scripture, something about as flint sharpens flint, so will one man sharrpen another, or something.

Well i think you had better get used to it.

I remember in the 70's a series called Petrocelli about some Italian lawyer cum private investigator.
Anyway he was played by some ugly jew actor and all the storylines on the show were about poor mexican immigrants who were just honest hardworking people getting fucked over by the Californian fascist police on one hand (all white WASPS) and unscrupulous slave trading orange grove owners (all WASPS) on the other.
Just white bashing all the time.

Just hit the off button.....or watch the tripe with a few like minded friends like i used to and take the piss out of it unmercifully.
