In many parts of the world I feel that they lack the mental ability to understand that their religion may be false.

Can you actually picture Somalia, Yemen or Iran one day realizing that because of the paradoxes in the koran it is false. Because it allows the men to treat women so poorly that it is barbaric.

I think they are incapable of coming to the understanding of this. Not only that but they seem to be incapable of building infrastructure to support intelligent logical viewpoints- unbiased universities for example.

It's because they don't see the books, they 'see' God before they see the book and therefore anything in it is divine as it was handed down *after* his existence supposedly; any contradictions are part of 'His' 'perfect' ideas, and due to that it's a logical fallacy in the first place as their God is made God by the book

It's just humanity's feeling of isolation and 'something else' that makes them grab on to the nearest thing that can be claimed to be such, be it fire, Yahweh, Allah or what have you. You back that up with a few alleged miracles in written form (oh my it must be true!) and you have yourself the perfect vehicle to get near 'Him' and as such you do whatever the books tell you to do.
