Question Could you Recommend a Biography of Werner Von Braun?

Can anyone recommend a good one?

    Really? No one?

Has anyone ever read "The Nazi Rocketeers" published by Stackpole Books? Is this book recommended?

I keep seeing this thread and I'm surprised nobody has answered either. I'm more interested in reading about the Luftwaffe (because the video on particular pilots or missions isn't all that great) than I am in reading about rocketry or the Apollo missions (because I like to watch the IMAX or DVD versions of those).

It seems to me that "Von Braun: Dreamer of Space, Engineer of War" would be the best book on him (it's the longest at 600+pages, best selling, and has the best reviews)

    Thanks for the suggestion.

"Neufield doesn't discount von Braun's past as an SS member and Nazi scientist (which was downplayed by NASA), but concludes nonjudgmentally that von Braun's lifelong obsession with becoming the Columbus of space, not Nazi sympathies, led him to his Faustian bargain to accept resources to build rockets regardless of their source or purpose."

I was hoping for a book that doesn't make excuses or apologize for von Braun being an SS officer but I imagine that that is impossible. This seems to be half way there at least. Definitely sounds worth checking out. Thanks.

Edit: Actually reading through the reviews at Amazon it seems the book is written by a jew and full of guilt tripping bs.

Has anyone read any of the Stackpole WW2 books?
