Both of these men are English, so they should show more resemblance than the other Norwegian Hallstatt that was posted.

There is still some variation even in subgroups, and you have local specialization of course.

There are Hallstatts from all over the world, American, Australian, South African, Norwegian, that will have their own "look" to them because of their ethnic amalgam. Subtype does not mean purity. The more we stray from Nordish matings, the less Nordish we become, and the rarer Hallstatts will be.

Are there any (paleo-)anthropological evidences that "Keltic" Nordics are of the Hallstatt origin? Perhaps, they're two different (sub-)races. I can hardly imagine how Alpine and/or Dinaric admixture can result in the "more sloping forehead" etc... Another variant is that modern Scandinavian Hallstatts differ themselves from the original version due to Lappish admixture...

As I know paleo-anthropologcal evidences are scarce. There are only 1000 skulls of Ancient Slavs found (800-1300 AD). How many Nordic skulls were found for the Iron Age period?

Yet another interesting question is why Bruenn influence is so small in Northern Germany (isn't it small)? (I'm talking about Anglo-Saxons and Co).

I doubt they have that considering their admixture?

PS: I just merged this thread into the Hallstatt/keltic on.
No reason to post this in the measurement thread.

That's not a Keltic nose, that's a semitic nose! LOL Notice the gradual smooth convexity.

Hallstatts can have convex noses too. Look at the big hooked nose on this one, even with a depressed tip!

He's probably not purely Hallstatt, he has Eastern Mediterranean traits, but to SNPA he is Hallstatt.

I think your seeing ghosts. I do not know if it distorted my pic I took of my book. but his nose is typically dinaricized. its a typical Kelt nose to me, I see if I can find some pictures of him on the web. and for the Swedish boy underneath your post. he does look hallstatt to me. hallstatts are not alpines, their nose tip bends alittle down, but not like the Semitics of cause. his nose looks perfectly standard hallstatt to me. Med strain? hmm interesting.

I do however wanna implement that alot of these pictures on SNPA piss me off big time. One day we should make a thread about all those idiotic pics which piss us off. cause it could sure need a revaluation. the Swede above looks very hallstatt but not the best example I would say. he might have some tiny trønder domination in him.

Sure this nose is not "typical". I'd say it's Armenid. Plenty of such noses in Armenia!
