I seldom see much on actual rune writing, mainly on the runes individually. I think this is probably due to the simplistic style of writing used. There are runes, and nothing else, except ":". This leads me to this...
How do you form paragraphs in runes? When I see statements in runes they sometimes start/end with ":". Would you use this as a period in a paragraph, for example:
: Sentence 1 : Sentence 2 : Sentence 3 : Sentence 4 :
Should a colon connect with a sentence or word or have a space, for example:
: Sentence 1 : or :Sentence 1:
Even though the topic about the direction of writing has already been discussed, but an example would be for "continuous stave" writing (as said here) would be:
: Sentence 1 : Sentence 2 : Sentence 3 : Sentence 4 :
: Sentence 8 : Sentence 7 : Sentence 6 : Sentence 5 :
The next line would start with : Sentence 9 : and you would continue the pattern.
When forming words, there is plenty of information on how to "translate" modern words in runes, such as not using consecutive runes, and removing silent letters. Also, there seems not to be any punctuation except a colon. Are there any other variations done to runes in writing? I've seen graphics for names with accent signs or umlauts put over runes, but it seems it's only for show.
Does anyone have any information on this subject?
