US Planning to Sell Weapons to the Saudi's

Sorry if its already somewhere on the forums. I just saw this somewhere else and figured id post it. I havn't seen anything about it so hopefully its not already around.

Anyways possible 60B dollar deal with saudi arabia selling off jets and helicopters.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503543_1...81-503543.html
The Wall Street Journal reports the White House will officially notify Congress in the next two weeks of a $60 billion deal to sell Saudi Arabia dozens of U.S.-made fighter jets and military helicopters.

If it goes ahead, the sale of some 84 new F-15 jets and dozens of helicopter will be the largest U.S. arms deal ever.

The Obama administration is pitching the sale as a major opportunity to create new jobs for the beleaguered American economy. Companies including Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and General Electric say more than 75,000 jobs could be created to build the new aircraft.

According to The Journal's sources, who remained anonymous, negotiations are also continuing on a side-deal which could see the Saudis pay an additional $30 billion for a U.S.-made upgrade to their naval forces.

Congress is expected to okay the sale of the aircraft ---- made tough to reject in America's current economic state by the prospect of new jobs.

As much as it represents a potential boon for the U.S. economy, the deal with Saudi Arabia would also serve to shore-up the defenses of a nation at the heart of the Middle East which is often viewed as America's key partner in the effort to stem Iran's regional influence.

Iran criticized the arms deal with Saudi Arabia as potentially destabilizing almost as soon as it became public three years ago.

"What the Persian Gulf region needs is stability and security," Mohammad Ali Hosseini, a spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry, was quoted as saying on a government Web site in July of 2007. "Americans have been trying to disturb it by selling weapons to the region."

Wow. Is the United States economy in such peril that we as a country are now going to supply Saudia Arabia with high grade weaponry in order to make money and new jobs to keep ourselves afloat?

Is this a sign of desperation?

Well that couldn't be............were afterall supposedly recovering economically or atleast that is what we are told.

[ It certainly is a symbol of deterioration of what used to be a economical power house nation.]

I'm betting such a move isn't making Israel happy.

Now there is a new kid on the block in the middle east with high level American weaponry besides Israel and it's name is Saudia Arabia Israel's rival in the region.

[Although Saudia Arabia I don't think has nuclear weapons like Israel does.]

National Socialism is the only salvation for Germanics and Europids everywhere. Capitalism, libertarianism, and communism is the enemy.

National socialized collectivism must prevail over radical individualism.

At least we'll get back some of the money we spend on securing the Gulf oilfields.

The U.S. and other countries sell weapons all the time, usually they sell the slightly outdated ones.

The selling of weapons has been going on a long time, even back in the dark ages.
Life is like a fire hydrant- sometimes you help people put out their fires, but most of the time you just get peed on by every dog in the neighborhood.

    War Profiteers

What else is new? Sounds like an Op-ed piece giving aid and comfort to the Iranians, Taliban and Al Qaeda. The article should have also covered the arming of Iran, Taliban and Al Qaeda and others by the Chinese, North Koreans, and Russians."Gun Running" is a multi-billion dollar International Business. Much more proftiable than shipping tennis shoes and the like around the Globe.

Anyone hear about "Ahmadinejad's speech to the U.N. yesterday? Talk about a "Declaration of War". He's right, we do need to get out of Afganistan and Iraq. Perhaps, what we need to do, is exit Afganistan to the west and Iraq to the east and meet on the beaches of Iran to the south for pickup. After we've laid waste to everything along the way.

The Iranians are running scared and have every right to be...
