    Britain and the "New Religion"

Having been away from Skadi for some time, I'm curious what members think about the progress of Islam in the nations of Britain and Europe. I focus upon Britain because it is the ancestral home of one of the most influential Islamic thinkers in the world today, Shaykh Abdalqadir as-Sufi, formerly Ian Dallas, a Scotsman who converted to Islam in 1967.

One of Shaykh Abdalqadir's more intriguing theses is that the current inhabitants of the Isles will eventually accept the "new religion" of Islam in large numbers, with no more difficulty than that which was experienced by their ancestors centuries before when they accepted the erstwhile "new religion" of Christianity. The only thing missing, in his view, is sufficient cultural context - a deficiency now being remedied by the British public at breakneck speed via their largely uncritical acceptance of all things multi-cultural.

In a prescient article from 2004, the shakyh sets forth some of the conditions for the transformation of Britain into a Muslim nation. First, he establishes a strong precedent for this evolution by pointing to the many similarly dramatic transformations that have already taken place in the history of the islands. He then goes on to make his main point:

From [this history] two things emerge. The first was that language is not a fixed and immutable societal reality. Language is determined by the usage of a literate, grammatically masterful elite who determine the movement of commerce and the transactions of power. English has not been the fixed reality of life in England. Britain itself has spoken Pictish, Gaelic, Roman, Danish, French, and also English.

It must be understood that English, while currently dominant, is in rapid and unstoppable decline.

At the first level - speech - the language is breaking down on a constant descending graph. It is not just Dr. [George Leonard] Carey, [Archbishop of Canterbury, 1991-2002,] who speaks a barely understandable English, it is endemic from the Prime Minister down to the hip-hop educated masses. The letter 'T' in median or terminal position has totally disappeared from speech. Diphthongs flatten to single sounds, or splinter into pentathongs. Shakespeare’s verse can now only be heard in the dislocated form of urban usage.

At the second level - vocabulary and grammar - these are in a further state of disintegration. The technical elite do not speak English but a kind of Microsoft, incomprehensible to the media-taught masses who now speak a hip-hop creole, fragmented and post-grammatical. The last few Ministers of Education themselves have a dismal speech record.

At the third level - education - there is no chance that England will see a future with a coherent and cultured elite. The education system is in permanent crisis from crèche to college.

[The second thing] we have found is that England, Britain, is a place. It is a land. Those who live there and die there are its people. The 'English' have been Anglo-Saxon, that is indigenous and fen-land peoples from the Germanic lands, Roman, Danish, Norman, and now in our time, the peoples of the subcontinent have settled with the incoming tide of a dying colonialism. In the end, that is now, the British were too weakened by the Thirty Year European War and its accompanying American invasion to hold India. So it was that Allah, glory be to Him, as He explains in His Book, yet again replaced a people who had ceased to worship him with a people who did.

The future of Britain as a Muslim island is dependent on only a few factors. English culture has collapsed. Nevertheless, Islam is NOT culture. Rather, it is a filter of culture letting past some things and stopping others. It is this the people need. Worship, 'ibada, and guidance, huda.

For this transformation it only requires the Muslim community to enter the mainstream of life and let the dynamic of the 'new English', the Muslims, impose itself naturally. End import brides. The men must marry into the community. Reside among the larger community. Do Da’wa. Guide the people back to a morality that has Divine authority so that they understand that the terrible plague of child murder and sexual assault does not occur out of a vacuum but rather because, since they have made everything else permissible, that remains the one thing forbidden. Such is the nature of man that he will always desire the forbidden. The abolition of just social and behavioural impositions have destroyed any possibility of marriage, therefore honour and fidelity, since these must be abolished in order to free up the populace to find consolation in consumerism.
Quoted from Shaykh Abdalqadir as-Sufi, Hukum on England's Future. For perspective on how these ideas have progressed, see Amir Tareq Ali's 2008 article Islam in Britain.

At one time I might have been skeptical at the notion of a Muslim Britain. But at this moment I can think of no reason Britain, or at least England, should not become predominantly Muslim within two or at most three generations, with widespread conversions among the "old immigrants" supplementing the deluge of new Muslim immigrants who continue to flood the land. Christianity and the church are for all practical purposes dead. The family and educational system are in catastrophic decline. Globalism and multi-culturalism are the order of the day.

Imagine how alien the Christian religion must have seemed originally to the inhabitants of the old British Isles. With its three-headed god and cult of crucifixion, not to mention its exotic origins, Christianity was every bit as fantastic and alien as Islam is today - if not much more so. Yet Britain, and Europe, eventually embraced Christianity absolutely. So why not Islam?

Islam offers a vibrant, growing alternative to the decaying secular lifestyle now prevalent. It offers easy answers, a purity and simplicity of message, and a huge tribe of believers with all the benefits tribal membership entails. It offers an all-encompassing solution to all the problems of life.

At least that is Shaykh Abdalqadir's thesis. Is it plausible? If so, what practical measures can be taken to stop it?

A very interesting and somewhat distressing post. I've never heard of Shaykh Abdalqadir before, somehow. In short, it is plausible, fighteningly so, and again, in short, many practical measures can be taken with reliance on good communication and organisation - the problem lies in the means of motivation. I'll come back to this thread later and post something more substantial, as right now, I don't at all have the time.

Also, I did not post on Skadi before you had taken some time away, but, none the less, welcome back.

EDIT: While I'm at it, stated by Amir Tareq Ali in the article linked, entitled "Islam in Britain", the statement "The key to understanding the future lies in history" is made - and he could not have made it any clearer.

He's correct. In fact, it is this dismissal of our history and failure to look back through our timeline in order to grasp successfully at the future, our reluctance to take a step away and analyse ourselves in order to pull our identity from the grave we're digging for it, that is the key contributing factor to not only the spread of Islam through out the United Kingdom, but equally, the decline of our people at large.

We really need to stand up...

Islam is all about submition to the ideas of Mohammad, a desert-based charlatan and warlord from 1500 years ago.

Islam is not about thinking or questioning. It does not foster intellectual development. It does led however, to stagnation and decadence in most societies it has influenced.

Look at what has happened in Islamic countries. Our modern technological world with computers and flush toilets is entirely a product of the 500 years following the renaissance and the enlightenment. If it wasn't for the ideas of rationalism and the scientific method which were rediscovered and built on during that period we'd still be living in the middle ages.

And if it wasn't for the importation of western technology the Muslim countries would still be living in the medieval period in material terms just as they still are intellectually.
Close observation may result in feelings of horror, wonder and awe at world you find yourself inhabiting.

Just a quick look at the figures relating to immigration and birth rate of ethnic minorities as a whole and more specifically those of the Islamic Faith should be enough evidence to prove that Shaykh Abdalqadir's thesis is plausible. The average (white) British woman has a birth rate of 1.6 births. The average Muslim woman has a birth rate (2007) of 3.5.

A Radio 4 article about anti white bullying in British secondary schools gave an example of a school in Denton, Greater Manchester where the Asian (mostly Muslim) population was 60% in 2006. The figure now, only four years later is 80%. This isn't just down to "white flight", the Muslim school population is rising year on year - obviously given the figures, while the white British school population is in steady decline.

What are we to do? Apart from radical surgery to cut out the tumour and promote the growth of fresh, indigenous tissue, I have no idea what can be done. There is nothing much that we can do. We can't change birth rates dramatically overnight. Muslim families will continue to import new spouses for their offspring from Pakistan. Muslim areas vote in Muslim MPs and councillors so Muslim power and influence grows with every election. When (not if imo) the Turks join the EU they will flood the West, particularly the UK as social care is perceived as very good. What hope do we have?

This is what I fear most as Islam does not appeal to the real Brit but it will to the mixed race and racial others that will see its dominance if things continue.

    Australian perspective

Things are no better downunder, multiculturism is taught in schools and a covert ZPG perspective operates as well. To see where we are headed look at the history of Rome, like them we are living the good life on borrowed money and there's little chance of stopping it. There are pagan traditions already moving back "underground", muslems are even less tolerant than christians, pagans are INFIDELS,to be "subdued by Fire and sword".
As I told my kids, for every kid you don't have a muslem woman will have 4, you have the kid and one of the parents starves to death and those 4 muslem kid aren't born. Which is better for the planet your 1 kid or their 4? Have as many kids as you like, you're doing the planet a favour with every kid! ........VIVA LA BLANCH!

The majority of the religion in Britain is Muslims and Hindu...more so than the western British culture.....this is not good.

Visibly, perhaps, but, this is not necessarily the case.

There are a few ways you can look at this, and here is how I like to see it. Christianity and ethno-cultural tradition offer a force of unification, popular atheism and multicultural diversity, on the other hand, offer a force of division. The Muslim population, in the United Kingdom, is growing at a rate of about 3 children to every 1 of our own. Now, the indigenous population, despite the effect of 'white flight' isn't exactly shrinking, atleast not physically, however it is becoming increasingly secular and increasingly liberal. This process of secularisation and all encompassing acceptance has a knock on effect in that it reduces social cohesion. We don't feel 'all the same'. Some of us are Christian, some secular, some Buddhist, some of us new age, Wicca, Neo-pagan. Muslims, however, are all the same. They're all Muslim. Not only this, but their religion is very 'in your face' where as our own is very recessive. Thus, the influence of Islam is intensified and the visual impact heightened. As we shrink, Islam grows. With this the idea that the majority religion in the British Isles is Islam develops - and if we don't act on this, it will, sooner or later, become a reality.

All hope is not lost. The answer is unificaiton, and we must unite. What, though, is the means of unification, and how do we go about achieving such a thing realistically? The reintroduction of a common ethno-culture is the most attractive idea, however is such a thing possible, at all?

Our proud spirit remains, I'm sure of that, we just need to reignite it.

Oh, we also need to tackle our culturally suicidal imperative.

We're quick to dismiss ourselves as being horrible, nasty, mean European westerners and we're quick to dismiss our own culture.

We're quick to defend the culture of others and to support our 'buddies' in the Islam tent, the Jewish tent and that of every other culturo-religious group the world over, too.

This is self-destructive and it coincides with both "popular atheism and multicultural diversity", "increasing liberalism" (as highlighted in my previous post) and with cultural-Marxism.
