The craddle of European Civilization comes from the North. All blond people originate from the north. So if you see a blond-blue eyed Slovene, Russian, Czech, Polak ect., you can be 100% sure that his ancient ancestors originated from "Germanics" (Germanic = Nordic).
"slovenja" was the settelment of the Langobards = Germanics/Teutons. "Poland" of the Goths and East-Vandals ect. ect. What do "slavs" tell us about their origin?
Some silly story that they originate from some swamps in the east and popped out of no where into history.

I am hoping the Czech Republic do well, seeing as Poland aren't there. Slavic, white, and great football too.

Jens Nowotny, judging from the name, has some Polish background. Not sure how much, though.
    Fredi Bobic is Slovenian/Croatian
    Thomas Brdaric is Croatian

Quite a number of Slavs in the team with Klose and Podolski too.

Gerald Asamoah (Ghanaian), Paulo Rink (Brazilian), Sean Dundee (South African), Mehmet Scholl (half Turk) and Dariusz Wosz (Polish) have all played for Germany in recent years.

He's supposedly German but has a Polsih surname. This phenomenon is not uncommon.

    Fredi Bobic is Slovenian/Croatian
It thought he was fully Croatian but was only born in Slovenia. De distinctly looks like a Croat.

    Thomas Brdaric is Croatian
    Correct, afaik.

Quite a number of Slavs in the team with Klose and Podolski too.
Klose is fully or predominantly Polish. Don't know about Podolski.

Gerald Asamoah (Ghanaian), Paulo Rink (Brazilian), Sean Dundee (South African), Mehmet Scholl (half Turk) and Dariusz Wosz (Polish) have all played for Germany in recent years.
Yup, but they don't play for Germany any longer.

I'll take your word for it. You probably know more about that than I do.

    Podolski is very much Polish.

A number of Germany's hot young talents are Polish born. Piotr Trochowski is rated very highly.

They have played in Germany, not for Germany - except Asamoah (in one championship, failed experiment) and Scholl.

Okay, I'll take it from you, but someone from this forum told me he was predominantly Polish. Prior to that, I was sure he actually had German roots.

No, they've all actually earned international caps for Germany.

That's wrong. He is predominantly Polish. He lived in Poland until he was 9 years old. His Parents were both oustanding Polish athletes.

The only reason he is a 'Volksdeutscher' is because of his surname, which might only account for 1/8th of his heritage.
