Post Re: Favourite Euro 2004 Teams

My sentiments before the cup were totally different and I was supporting Croatia, Russia and Bulgaria a great deal. However, the quality of the game is more important I think and so far the really good teams have been the Czechs, Dutch and the Germans. I could not watch any game live as the American TV does not broadcast them, or if it does, it's in some obscure channel that I am yet to discover amongst a thousand but I registered for the Euro2004 website and was able to listen to them live and watch them afterwards. Not the same thing but better than nothing. Amongst these three I think I support the Czechs the most.

I hope this half-turkish Kanackenteam of Germany loses every game.

Once again, I couldn't agree with you more.

    Czechs kick ass!

I hope the Croatians make it through as well, they've played well, and truly deserve it.

What about France? Is there one *real* Frenchman on their starting eleven?

No, and should any frenchman support such a team?

This definitely is and should be a matter of principle. I will never root for such a team. Sadly, most 'western' European teams are heading in the same direction. Germany included.

    Heck, even Poland has one:

    Really frustrating.

Post Re: Favourite Euro 2004 Teams

I think it is pretty sickening how most of the teams barely have any people that are actually from that country. What´s the point of calling it the Eurocup if we have other people from other countries that aren´t originally from our nations, playing the games for us...
Just close your eyes...can you remember
The generations not so long ago
I feel the shameless urge that we must restore
Our former king to his rightful throne
And with me lords and maidens
We wait for the chosen son's return

    I come alive
    It's a time for celebration
    Our will to restore
Make our past become the futre once more

Still he lives! 2000 years have passed
And still we're yearning for his return
    We fulfill a wishful prohecy
    And so the chanting begins
Hail Caesar...Hail Caesar...we render unto you
    What is still yours

That's why you should support a team which best represents the ethnic composition of their native country.
