    Your Feelings Regarding Latins

How do you feel about the Latins of Europe? The Italians, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Sicilians, Romanians?

I don't like the Spanish. I've never met or spoken to a Portugese person, so I don't know, but if they're anything like the Spanish I wont like them either. I don't really care for the Italians. I don't mind the French, atleast, I don't dislike them as much as other Englishmen, who seem to harbour an instinctive distate.

I have a friend, a languages student, who has, in turn, spent 3 years abroad, one year in Germany, one year in France and one year in Spain as a part of her education, who has told me that the French are arrogant, dismissive and generally quite snobby, the Spanish are alright and Germans, who are of course not Latin, are very warm, welcoming and friendly.

Ahhh, I see you haven't gotten the message yet. To be a Germanic preservationist requires you to hate or at least not like non-Germanics.

    Just kidding.

It's been less than a week that you've posted a thread asking about how we felt about Slavs. This is a forum about Germanics, not about Latins or Slavs, or any other funky group, just thought I'd remind before we get one on every single meta-ethnicity from Algonquian and Bantu through Khoisan and Zulu next.
-In kalte Schatten versunken...

(Heimdalls Wacht, In kalte Schatten versunken, stanzas 4-6)

I am not trying to undermine the integrity of the forum, I am merely interested in other people's opinion on certain groups. I feel a certain way about Latins and Slavs, and I want to see if others share my views. Now that I've posted polls about the Latins and Slavs, I think I've pretty much exhausted my ideas in that department, it would be useless to post a poll about Albanians, much less Khosians since Germanics have had no significant contact with them.

While we're at it, how do you feel about a Sinhalese/Turkish/Lithuanian/Khosian/German/Cherokee mix? just kidding

I have many Italian and Spanish-American friends. I've always gotten along with them. Like one Italian-American I got along with him since day one when we meant at school and we are still friends even though he left my school. I pretty much get along with all European ethnic groups.

I can't say for European Italians, but the ones over here I find to be too wild. Many of the full blooded ones seem to partake in the whole hip hop culture and are quite loud and obnoxious. Not all of them but just my overview.

I do have admiration for Italians and their culture, though I do not feel I can connect much with them. I have never met any Portoguese nor Romanians, though the latter definitely have a reputation as thieves around these parts. I've encountered too many obnoxious Spaniards to have any high thoughts about them. And the French...very nice people, but are they Latin..? I would not think so.

Romanians are not very Latin, Greeks are more Latin in race and closer to other Mediterraneans like Italians and Spanish than Romanians are, Romanians may speak a Latin language but they are as racially diverse as Balkans and other Slavs, all in all they just look for the most part Eastern more than Mediterranean.

France are so-so, Occitania is definitly a Latin regional part of France, while Normandy is more Germanic than Latinic.
