    NO.

I was painfully shy as a young teenager, due to a repressed upbringing, but overcame this within a few years. I always attribute it to one particular evening in a night club when (as usual) I was scared sh*tless of talking to any women but I got into a conversation with some bloke who said: "Trev, in 100 years from now, none of this will matter"

Wow! That was a profound statement and once I'd taken in its full implications I became totally unconcerned by the opinions of others. I may even have made an ass of myself on the odd occasion, but so what? I just scoff at such trivia, which is insignificant in the grander scheme of things

I sometimes wonder if there's still a shy person lurking deep beneath my couldn't-care-less exterior but I don't think so; he's been buried for well over 4 decades now

No, I'm not shy actually the exact opposite.

I love messing with people, in a almost prank like manner.
Life is like a fire hydrant- sometimes you help people put out their fires, but most of the time you just get peed on by every dog in the neighborhood.

Same for me. I am shy. I've been called a snob. My mom says I'm standoffish. My mom isn't shy though. She's very talkative.

But on the internet I often feel like this ...
