For English Speakers, Which Accent Do You Prefer?

I'm a bit biased, but I like midwestern accents. Some others can be hard to understand. I do find a nice southern accent or an Irish accent to be attractive when a woman is speaking though

Growing up in the deep south has made me appreciate real southern accents. There is nothing like a nice, rich, authentic southern accent.

That said, I also really love hearing English and Scottish people talk. It sounds a bit more pleasant to the ear than most American accents. Elderly people with British accents are so adorable.

I think you and i might have different views of the Southern accent. I'm from NC so southern accents around here are quite abit different then those you would find in the deep south like Texas, Louisianan, Mississippi or even Southern Georgia. I find it very rare to hear someone who speaks the southern accent the way we do, unless of course your from around here.

I do like the British sound the most however being from the North Mid west I would have to say it is a close second. I live in the Southern U.S. now and the people here say I sound like a Canadian.

Aside from English accents (i'll admit i'm probably biased here) i also like the sound of a southern American accent. It has a certain hard to define flow that i find appealing, and it's also nice to hear the h actually pronounced in words such as what, where, who, etc. It gives it a certain charm.

I also voted for South African English. Probably for no other reason than that i like the bluntness of a lot of South Africans i meet and have since come to associate that with the accent.

Personally I'd say except from my own Scottish accent it would have to be Irish, more southern Irish than northern but they both have their own appeal.

I must say that the Scottish accent has a lot of character. I also like the Australian or New Zealand accents as well.

I also have always liked the accents down in the southern states....Alabama and Louisiana in particular.
