Saying Hello

Hello everyone,
I was very pleased to find this site as I have a strong interest in all things Nordic. My ancestors were all from Caithness and the Western Isles of Scotland, both centres of intense Viking activity . They were mostly seafarers as far as I've been able to trace them through genealogy and so I've always been drawn to the Scandinavian countries in particular and also Germany.
My main interests are music (mostly metal from Scandinavia), literature, history, driving and travelling in Lakes & Mountains regions.
I'm looking forward to meeting new people on here... there are some really interesting posts from very intelligent people and I'm glad to have discovered more about the different races... fascinating stuff.
