Anyone practice German Longsword
Nope, but I do make some swords.... Working on "The Rose" right now. More of a fantasy type sword that has rose thorn shape protruding from both the blade edges in an alternating pattern. I have not designed the twisting rose vine and flowers that I will sand etch down the blade yet but I have a few drawings done. I do not have any kind of handle for this one yet either, but I may some deer antler and sand etch it with vines and rose flowers as well. If I can ever get up to my 15 posts on here I will start getting pics loaded on here as I make each part of the sword.
I don't but if you have any resources on it you can share I'd certainly be interested in giving it a try
Yeah I do. Currently practicing Hans Talhoffer and Fiore Dei Liberi stuff. Can't wait for the new Hurstwic dvd due in march for more viking methods, but stuff from latter manuals can be adapted retrospectively for that anyhow. A good user friendly manual for a beginner that covers basic footwork, stances and strikes is the AEMMA, The Art of Longsword Combat. I saw it for download on Scribd. (Not that I'd recommend doing any sort of illegal downloading...)

There's a whole host of stuff on there.
I have done some viking fighting, but I've had trouble with my knee for the last 8 months![]()
Like Hersir, I do viking combat/hærkamp. Love it ^^
But I do want to pick up German/Italian longsword fighting in the future.
A HEMA master moved to my town recently, and he is going to start a school =)
Please don't confuse the terms "nordid" and "nordic".
